This IL move is a thanks for helping out the pen back when you and Hembree were the only reliable arms we had. For a 3-4 week period he helped keep the team upright till the trades and healthy arms got back.

Yeah, Shogo isn’t playing against lefties, agree.

I still stand behind Shogo against RHP, though he is BABIP dependent and lacks power. Does make contact, knows something about contact hitting.

Shogo’s walk rate is down, probably pitchers coming right into the zone, no need to nibble. If he goes on a little hitting streak, maybe the walks will come back.

I'm in the same boat here. I think that given regular playing time, he would probably put up an above-average OBP similar to what he did when he got comfortable the second half of last year. Add another high-OBP player to this lineup that has plenty of power, and it basically never gives in.

I'm aware that he may just be over-matched, but he certainly showed he could make it to 1st last year when given a regular chance. I prefer him to all of the other options outside of of a healthy Senzel.

There is nothing wrong with Moose. I would have been stunned if he was in the lineup today. You have to take it slow with him. I expect he will get 1-2 days off a week.

I doubt they’ll drop Naquin because they’ll need him if there’s an injury. Lefty pinch hitter too.

It is unlimited now, but there used to be a limit as to how many players you could have on each disabled list. Originally, there was a 10, 21, and 30-day DL. In 1966, a 15-day DL was added. In 1984, the 10-day DL was dropped. In 1990, the 60-day DL was introduced and the 21 and 30-day DL's were dropped. In 2017, the 10-day DL was reintroduced as a replacement for the 15-day DL.

Prior to August 1990, teams were only allowed to have two players, including only one pitcher, on the 15-day disabled list, three on the 21-day DL, and one on the 30-day DL.

I liked Farmer from the moment they acquired him.

I thought of him as more of a quality bench piece rather than a starter (and long-term that still might eventually be his role in the future), but I always saw him as more than a throw-in.
