Reasonable lineup considering a lefty pitcher. Naquin in CF over Shogo is an offense over defense choice. Reds don’t score much in Atlanta so guess every edge goes to the offensive type player. Cast on bench with minor injury.

A problem if you lose 4 straight in a playoff race, so this is a key game for Reds.

Is Castellanos hurt. Sitting him against a lefty coming off a 3 game losing streak in the middle of a pennant race seems strange. He got hit by a pitch on the foot last night, is that the issue.

I would have waited for a RHP to rested Castellanos. But it is clear that Nick isn't right and he came back too soon. He is still good. But not close to what he was prior to being hit.
This is overlooked but that hit by pitch is looming big for this season. I don't ever wanna see a player seriously injured. But I wouldn't be mad if a Brewer gets plunked and misses some games next time they face the Reds.

My instinct is to recoil each time someone suggests this.

But it’s actually not that crazy. He’s got incredible numbers and he carried this team on his own in rough spots.

If the Reds remain in the race until the end and he keeps playing well, it’s definitely possible, especially considering the 2 candidates who play on his team aren’t really contenders anymore.
