Released by the Cubs. Obviously he’s been dreadful for a few weeks but he’s really thrown well most of the season.

Of course, being released by the Cubs is like getting rejected for a date by a library aide.

I think, so long as he’s not injured, this is the kind of chance they’re going to need to take to make this bullpen a little better than Hindenburgian.

His walk-rate is disgusting. That alone gives me pause. I’d take him for minor league depth, but I don’t really like him better than Sims, Garrett, or Doolittle at this point.

The real question is whether one certain poster would then call Winkler Winker?

Also, I have to wonder if he was pitching himself to a release. His totally crapped out at the turn of august

Back in the day, I dated a librarian. Let’s just say there was more than met the eye to her. She was quite creative :) :)

(then maybe winkler could be the 8th guy? pick your poison between him, AG, doolittle, etc).
