If cast thinks the organization is committed to winning he may stay. I think the Reds shouldn’t pick up the option in Gray and use that savings for Cast. The Reeds are about to have a really cheap starting rotation over the next few years. VG, HG, TM, NL and someone else. They could maybe even keep Castillo when he is out of control. The Reds will have to pay up for Cast and with Moose and Suarez stuck with the team Gray is expendable.

Offence is really going to need Moose and Suarez to bounce back next season. With the weak OF. Unless someone is added. I expect we will see one of Moose or Suarez at DH a bunch. I see Winker in LF way more than at DH next year. For the simple fact of how weak the OF may be.

I see him as a typical young SS. He will make eye popping plays in a season. Make plays that no one else on the team could make. But will be among the league leaders in errors his first few seasons.

Yeah, that’s a good day for a day off. However, I just want to point out that pitch he struck out on was absolute filth. 90mph that broke right before got to the plate. Only way to hit that pitch is to close your eyes and guess correctly.
