Boyd’s a lefty who misses a lot of bats. Mahle has been excessively flammable at home.

Regardless of the lineup, this team as a whole is not hitting.

Baseball often makes no sense, so the Reds will win by 18 tonight.

As far as Deshields goes.. he's a 667 career OPS, which is not great, but he's a lot better than Shogo. It's an upgrade.
So then the question becomes Naquin or Aquino? I'd probably go with Naquin, even though it's Left on left, just because he's an overall better player.. But kind of hard to fault Bell for trying to put as many righties as he can in the lineup.. nothing has really worked vs LH pitching for the Reds this year.. I'm not that enamored with Lopez enough to play him in LF. Now if you meant to rip Krall for assembling this roster, you have a great point. Or if you want to criticize the Reds for not teaching Ty Stevenson LF a lot earlier.. that's a point as well (I have not heard if they are continuing with that plan or not, does anyone know?)

Historically Mahle gets stronger at this stage. I think most felt that the time to pull him was either before or after the walk that brought in the 4th run.

I didn’t scream it. But I did post it before Mahle walked in the run.

I’ve seen Mahle finish strong, but I’ve seen the opposite too. These days he throws too many pitches early which often seals his fate as a five inning pitcher.

No he didn't. Someone posted here the other day how hard Geno plays. He does not play hard. He jogs to 1b when he grounds out. Castellanos plays hard Geno does not.
