Now, that they are not gonna get two of these three in Pittsburgh, they need to win today and pick up another one somewhere, maybe sweep both remaining series with the Pirates or win 2 of three against the Dodgers. If they do that, they end up at 87-75, which may or may not better the Cardinals. Any way you look at it they simply HAVE to win today!!! A win today and winning two of three over the weekend keeps us breathing. They have to start by simply abusing this Conner Overton dude today!!!

I would even be fine with him platooning in the OF next year. A OF against RHP of Schrock, Naquin and Winker. IF AND ONLY IF they upgrade the bullpen and they go out and get two good RH bats to platoon with Schrock and Naquin. Not just any RH bats but ones who have a history of hitting well against LHP. AND IF Schrock works the entire off season on learning to play OF. Of course that would not be my first choice. I would rather they go get a Legit CF and let Schrock start once a week and be top LH pinch hitter off the bench.

Oh I know. I used to call them all the time. Several years ago I actually got them to switch on the first game of a rain out makeup DH. Thankfully I don't have to put up with them anymore. Do you folks remember a '80's song by the Fixx called "Saved by Zero." ? It was written from the point of view of the release you get when you have nothing left to lose. The idea of the song is how great it is to get back to zero. It's a reference to the Buddhist mantra, I think... It clears your head of all fears and panics and illusions and you get back to the basics. Kinda like a multi millionaire that has lost everything and has nothing left. In a sense, there's a sense of freedom , a sense of relief, and less pressure because you ar at zero and no where to go but up. I think the Reds need to use this philosophy to their advantage. Back at zero, nothing left to lose. Just relax and play.

You are right about being overmatched. No doubt about that. We showed the last three games that we are not much better than the Pirates, if at all, right now. But I have watched baseball long enough to know that it's the craziest game there is. Just when you think you have something pegged, baseball will show you the very opposite. The Dodgers should win all three games but to quote the great philosopher, Tyler Barnhart: "It's baseball." So, who knows?

I expect to see a good number of Dodger fans among the hundredsof fans that will show up at GABP this weekend.
