I responded to that comment because I disagree with it.

If you want to forego a better OF defense for half the game, that’s a judgment call. Brewers would go with the defender in CF, they’ve shown that. Reds aren’t hitting, I get their decision, but it’s questionable IMO.

I would've started DeShields in center and Winker in left, keep Schrock available off the bench. The small offensive benefit Schrock may give you over Delino is greatly outweighed by the potential disaster of Winker in CF (in his first game after a back injury).

I worry that Winker was rushed back from the injury. I don’t blame the Reds for it, this series is do or die. Reds can’t get swept and keep a good chance for the WC.

The reason I think the Reds need two of these is because just winning one guarantees them losing ground to either the Cards or Padres. Also, they would be , at a minimum, two games behind in the loss column and possibly as many as four. That would be very hard to overcome with time running out. when moose is up, you need to get two outs if there is a man on base. otherwise, it's a failure by the pitcher.
