Might be the last real Spring Training Special lineup before the regulars start getting real playing time.

Some notes:

Garcia's playing for that backup catcher spot (assuming no deals between now and the start of the season).

Hot take: Riley O'Brien is going to be a solid middle relief arm for a couple of years. He's yet to have a full professional season without a K rate under 9.4. He doesn't give up very many hits either. But he walks a ton of people and nibbles far too much for a guy with his stuff. As a reliever with just two pitches, I'm guessing that he'll trust his stuff a bit more. If not, he'd be a Robert Stephenson middle relief arm-- and those have real value. Here's hoping he gets that chance this season, especially with Greene, Sanmartin, Lodolo, and Gutierrez ahead of him in the pecking order and Ashcraft and Williamson beside him.

Schrock/ Aquino/ Moran/ Drury in the middle of the lineup is like a series of bad action adventure sequels. Pick one or two and move on from the rest, Reds. Or better yet, find a new guy and get rid of them all.

How clever of Red management to have all five guys fighting for roster spots in one lineup so that Redszone might completely overreact based on one or two PAs. Kudos, Krall and company!

You overlooked Shogo as fighting for a roster spot. They keep him over anybody shows they are not serious about being any better

That lineup for the Reds screams guys fighting for spots 26-28, which makes considerable sense. I would hate to see a comparison of the Career WAR totals for the Reds lineup vs the Angels.

I just scurried back here from watching the highlights on mlb.com. What was Senzel thinking when he fielded that ball at the wall and then tossed it to the right fielder? Was he hurt on the play. That play totally confused me.

They've done it a couple of times. When Naquin is out there it takes advantage of his arm. I think its actually something they are trying to practice. Its a little too cutesy for me. Just throw it back in there. I can see doing it if he's on the run away from the IF, but I hope they don't make a habit of it.
