Thought I'd start the thread.

Someone I think is not on the Top-15 radar of anyone is Arkansas' WR Treylon Burks.

Projected by many at the top of the 2nd Round, the 5th Receiver taken, I think he goes Top-3 at WR and is gone by #15.

I have seen Burks top 15-20 in a bunch of mocks. First round in every single one I have seen.

I didn't look at mocks, but at scouting reports. But, I'm not surprised that the mocks have him there. If the Saints want him, they'll have to move up. Same goes for PHI, GBP, CLE and the LAC, all teams looking for WR's.

Dane Brugler has him as the 5th receiver and #21 overall best player with a 1st Round grade.

I know this is still a couple weeks away but an interesting development with the Jaguars:

https://247sports.com/college/georgia/Article/Travon-Walker-now-seen-as-potential-No-1-overall-pick-in-the-2022-NFL-Draft-186030122/

Gotta imagine Detroit would be pretty happy to get Aidan Hutchinson at no 2.

Found it’s easier to use PFF for mocks than typing everything out.

For the Bengals I was really torn between Linderbaum and Ojabo especially with no top CB option on the board.

Not buying that. With that said, if Hutchinson is truly the best player in this draft class this is the weakest top 10 I have seen in a very long time. I don't buy him as truly elite.

It’s definitely the weakest QB class. Especially when the top QB prospect is from a mid major or however you classify it now. Next years looks pretty promising with Stroud and Bryce Young and possibly others.

Kinda reminds me of the 2000 class where Chad Pennington was the only QB taken and the rest of the class outside of a certain sixth round pick was pretty much crap.

Kipers latest mock is out and has the Bengals trading out of the first round with Linderbaum on the board to pick up an extra day 3 pick.

I don’t see Linderbaum being a necessity and wouldn’t be mad if the Bengals did pass him over for a CB. That said, if the best they could get is a 2nd and 4th rounder or worse for trading out of the first round something is wrong.

I think the trade value chart undervalues the 5th year for first rounders. I'd trade a 4th round pick right now to get that 5th year for Tee Higgins, for example. Four years of a 4th rounder is likely to give you less production that the 5th year of a first rounder at a reasonable price.

Kipers latest mock is out and has the Bengals trading out of the first round with Linderbaum on the board to pick up an extra day 3 pick.

I donÂ’t see Linderbaum being a necessity and wouldnÂ’t be mad if the Bengals did pass him over for a CB. That said, if the best they could get is a 2nd and 4th rounder or worse for trading out of the first round something is wrong.

The only reason he did that was because McShay gave him hell after the 30th pick for not mocking a trade for the entire draft. Kiper took off his mic and walked off the screen, the 2nd night in a row he did that. The night before he didn't come back after mocking his hair, morphing it onto one of the other bald analyst's head at the end of their show. The host last night publicly apologised asking him to return while Kiper was actually scrambling to come up with an intelligent trade scenario to come back onto the show to poke fun back at McShay. That's the only reason he mocked a trade for the Bengals. It was all in good fun.

That said, I felt before he did that joke, the Bengals' best use of the #31 pick is to acquire additional picks, which would include a 2nd Rd pick in the Top-10 of the 2nd Rd this year. Unless there's a prospect that falls significantly on their board that they just can't believe that he's there, they should still be able to get a player they want in the top-10 of the 2nd Rd, while adding another quality pick for later (perhaps a 2nd or 3rd next year). With large contracts in the future for Burrow, Chase and Higgins, financially they will be better off with multiple 2nd and 3rd Rd picks instead of another 1st down the road.

I do recall some people that worked in our Detroit office had decent downtown apartments......there were very few metro area's in the country that a staff public accountant could afford a decent downtown apartment. I do not recall the numbers, but I just recall at the time downtown rent was dirt cheap compared to most cities.

I assume their defense this year would be they would be reaching for a WR at either of their picks to take a WR.....but they could have traded up a few spots to get one of the WR's that had a late 1st round grade.

Seems like the Bucs sites are suggesting the Bucs will open the 2nd round by picking Logan Hall. I think I would prefer they go with Booth Jr. or Boye Mafe.

Devin Lloyd to Jacksonville.

Kinda surprised it wasn’t Nakobe Dean.

Agreed but I can see why Dean wasnt drafted in the 1st. Sub 6 ft with a average 40 time for a LB. I will say it's hard to watch game tape on him and not see the potential as a sideline to sideline menace. I've also had to remind myself that height isnt everything. Aaron Donald is the best DL in football as he's only 6'1.

The Ravens got two guys who some had in their top 10 early in the draft process. And they have six! fourth round picks to play with.

Hamilton could be a force for the Ravens and be this generations Troy Polamalu or he could be a bust. I could see it going either way.

Linderbaum was a need pick since Bozeman left in free agency. Had Cincinnati not done enough with the offensive line I would have been more upset that he went to the Ravens but I think the Bengals are fine.

I think losing Hollywood is going to sting though. They still have Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews at TE but not much else in terms of depth. The Ravens might as well be a one dimensional team now with Jackson and all of their RBs returning.

Thoughts on Washington’s pick of Jahan Dotson at #16? Seems like maybe a reach but curious what you guys think, especially you B1G followers.

My thoughts on first round:

(1) As the resident Giants fan on this board I am over the moon on Joe Schoen's first draft. Kayvon Thibodeaux oozes personality and has loads of talent. And a crazy first step. He should be fun to watch. And Evan Neal, yes! Watching the trainwreck of the Giants OL (and the worst GM in Giants history constantly botching fixing it while also, somehow, botching everything else too) I'm pumped we now have 3/5ths of a real line. Good start for the NY Football Giants.
(2) The Jets - wow. Great first round for Gang Green. Sause, like Thibodeaux, oozes personality and kid can play. NY will love him. Wilson is special too. And then using all those extra picks they had to slide back into first round to get a falling Jermaine Johnson, great move. I hate you NY Jets, but dammit, today I respect you.
(3) Baltimore doing Baltimore things. Kyle Hamilton is real deal. As ND fan I've watched that kid for 3 years and his game speed is awesome. Forget testing numbers, his tape shows range, instincts and unbelievable ability. David Shaw, Stanford's coach was on NFL Network, and said this (paraphrasing here) - when Hamilton was a freshman Stanford gameplanned to take advantage of him. By middle of 1st Quarter, they had to scrape that entire plan and change coarse because of how advanced he was. And then Linderbaum, great replacement for Bozeman, who they lost to Carolina over spring. Ravens doing Ravens things.
(4) When Detroit traded up for Jameson Williams, boy, that was not who I expected them to pick. I like it though. It's like a redshirt year, they can bring him along slowly after that injury and then really unleash him in 2023.
(5) I'm thinking Belichick picked Cole Strange a wee bit too early.
(6) Bengals had good pick in Hill and then Vikings backed that up with good pick of Lewis Cine. I was hoping one of those 2 fell to Giants at 36.
(7) Where does Malik Willis fall to??? Seattle has 40 and 41 I think so maybe they package picks to move up to get him? Carolina doesn't have pick until 4th round so for them to get him they'd have to use ammo from next year. Do they do that? New Orleans already used ammo from 2023 to move around and acquire picks in first round this year, so they probably have to sit and wait if they want him.
(8) And speaking of Willis - - Pickett over him Pitt? OK, hope you are right. You might be.
(9) Hollywood and AJ Brown traded (freaking Eagles) but Deebo still a Niner. If I am San Francisco I'd hold onto him too. Too good and too versatile.

On to Rounds 2 and 3

He's good. Great hands. 16 was probably a little early for him but not anything outrageous. I think he will compliment McLaurin nicely. But seriously great hands.
