Stupid question, but does a retina tear hurt? I've been very lucky in my 50 years, only ever got a piece of metal stuck in my eye when I worked in a steel factory. It was removed without issue.

I 'll never forget the game at St. Louis last season. Biggest loss of the season. Luis smiled and joked with Cards' the whole game. Didn't seemed bothered by the loss afterwards. Stupid question, but does a retina tear hurt? I've been very lucky in my 50 years, only ever got a piece of metal stuck in my eye when I worked in a steel factory. It was removed without issue.

No, not really. You start seing flashes of light and dark things called "floaters." The repair, while not excruciating, is not pleasant. They have to put a lot of pressure on the eyeball when doing the laser. Gives you quite an eyeball ache. Torn retinas have to be repaired immediately or you can suffer permanent vision loss if the retina becomes detached. It's not fun but it has to be done.

They hustled me in because they thought I had a retina tear but the diagnosis is gel detached from retina which “might” lead to detached retina.
I’m 27 days out from partial knee replacement - which was my 10th orthopedic surgery - I’m over it

Yeah, I'm one of the lucky 20% that has vitreous gel come off. It was responsible for the retina tears. Age is one of the biggest factors for this happening.

It was my meme that offended everyone and I apologize for it. I too have a step father who committed suicide but would not associate a meme to what my step father did to influence my life.
