It’s been a tough day in Cincy for the Brewers. They DFAd Lorenzo Cain on the date of him reaching 10 years of MLB service time.

He placed 7th in MVP voting in 2018 and won a Gold Glove the next.

It was a mutual agreement, Cain said. He’s undecided on what comes next.

I think they should use Joey more at DH and give him more rest. I don’t think anything’s wrong with him.

I would prefer no Moose and Schrok playing. That’s the issue.

I really thought Schrock would play against the RHP. I guess not. He will probably be in the Sunday lineup. I'm sure Pham or Drury will be due for a scheduled rest day.
Disappointing that Schrock isn't going to play though against all RHP.
Hopefully Moose will hit number 200 soon and then get his walking papers.

Huge problem for Senzel is he hits everything on the ground. Lifts nothing.
His GB rate has to be one of the highest of any hitter. And his hard hit rate one of the worst.

Trust me, I wasn't suggesting anywhere higher than 6.

A few years ago, we had an outfielder on our JV softball team who was not a strong hitter. She played regularly because she was a decent defender in the OF, but was a liability at the plate and usually batted at the bottom of the order. Anyway, after one game her dad -- who had unrealistic expectations of how good she was, and was one of those parents who "keeps his own book" and therefore had her BA over .400 -- confronted the coach and asked him why she always batted 9th.

The coach looked him straight in the eye and replied, "Because I can't bat her 10th." The dad walked away livid!

I don’t know. That’s part of the question.

Have to assume Justin Dunn will be along eventually. Lodolo coming back. Greene, Castillo and Mahle are locked in unless a trade occurs. And there’s still the Mike Minor Dilemma.

I’m not sure if Ashcraft will be better served at AAA or learning here. W and L are of little concern now. Mostly considering what’s in his best interest long-term.

I'd keep him up. Assuming he's healthy and there's nothing physically wrong with him in these last 2 starts, he's just hitting a little rough patch. It would benefit him more to stay and develop.

Yes he hit one in the Red seats. I knew that he always joked with Foster, Bench and Perez about how he hit the longest Red seat HR.
I knew about this. So one day I got to a meet and greet in Reds hall of fame. Davey and Tony and Eric Davis were in a group seated. They had players grouped in 3s and 4s throughout the Hall.
I see Davey. I immediately say. There is the man would hit the longest Red seat HR. He stands up and screams yes sir. You're the man. Perez and Davis says are you kidding me? And get out of here with that talk. Perez says okay Davey pay the man.

Yes he sucks. But he did a good job. Plus we have been over this ad nauseum. Outside of Diaz and Hoffman being decent this year. They all suck. I know you hate Bell. But he can't pitch Hoffman and Diaz every day. He tried that with Antone last year when he was the only good option. And you see how that ended.

He played matchups like every single major league manager does. Brewers had two straight LHB. Not his fault that both of his LH relievers suck. Yes Detwiler sucks as well. We all are here cause we enjoy the reds and want them to do well but don't think it's right to say what you just said if I just sit back and say nothing negative then I'm ok? I'm annoyed us as fans should be annoyed I don't think I said anything that would ruin a game thread

It's alright to be negative if you have a clue about what you're talking about.

You sure don't do anything to promote intelligent discussion either

OK so you like bell I take it? Also I think it's lines like that starting fights that give game threads a bad rep.

I'm in full-blown apathy mode now :( Senzel needs to be back in the leadoff spot, because at least he can get on base. India needs to bat in the bottom until he gets his mojo back.

Every single manager would have brought in Sanmartin there. Because reds GM brought him back to the majors to pitch in relief. His job is to pitch to mostly LHB. You don't use your other LH reliever who has been better than Sanmartin in a game in which your losing. Every manager saves the better LH reliever in game that are close later or games they are winning.

I don't think it's alright to try and silence someone because you disagree with them. Educate them. Empower them, and the discussion will be for the better.

Well never mind I guess you do use your other LHR when your losing sometimes.
1.50 ERA means nothing though for Detwiler he stinks and has been very lucky. It won't be anything near 1.50 soon.

Watching Warren pitch my eyes tell me he should be much better than the reality he offers the bullpen

15 errors in the last 10 games.

Terrible throw by Pham - it appeared to slip or didn’t have a good grip. But that ball went thru 2 Reds who both failed to get their body down and in front of the ball. Just disappointing to watch.
