The Reds have placed Art Warren on the IL with a right flexor pronator strain. He has been a high leverage reliever and another big part of the bullpen the Reds will have to replace in the short-term.

Catcher Mark Koloszvary has been activated.

The Reds go with the extra position player for the day. It’ll likely go back to 13/13 tomorrow when Nick Lodolo gets activated.

Kyle Farmer is currently jogging on the field, but he’s wearing a soft cast. David Bell said he’s doing better but is still dealing with swelling and likely won’t start in the next couple days.

David Bell also said there’s a very possible chance that Tyler Stephenson and Tyler Naquin return on this homestand.

Just curious. Did Greene do something to you personally? You always put him down every single time he pitches.
Never in history has a hyped rookie pitcher struggled. Even if he was lights out every start he wouldn't have many wins with this offense backing him up. Not to mention the pen.

Pitchers aren't scared of anyone in the Reds lineup. So they are pumping strikes for the most part. Swing or you're out.

Let's hope not. One good season doesn't make a career. Just like a bad start to a career doesn't either. Everyone knew Greene would have ups and downs. When he is right he is unhittable.

I don't know what you expected. Forget wins because he would have to be near perfect to get wins with this offense and pen.
He has had 3-4 good starts. Dominated in a couple. Has been horrible in the rest.
Most hyped rookies struggle in their rookie years. Not all but most do.
He should be a Red for 5 more years after this one. If he don't improve any starting next season you can start to label him a bust.
But I'm not giving up on him yet. The kid has barely pitched in the minors due to injury. Most clubs would still have him in AAA. But as you know the Reds have limited options to start.

***On this date in baseball history*** TRIVIA

123 years ago, today , July 4, 1899 , John McGraw became the first player to accomplish the steal cycle(stealing second, third, and home) in a single inning . He did it in the 4th inning for the Orioles(their last year in the National League) in Baltimore against the Boston Beaneaters.

Stealing second, third, and home in the same game is an extremely rare feat but stealing for the cycle in the same inning is beyond rare. In fact, it never happened a single time in the decade of the 30's, 40's, 50's 60's or '70's. It did happen twice in the decade of the 1980's , once in 1980 and once in 1984. Both of these occurrences happened against the Reds and both of the players who accomplished the feat have connections to the Reds.

By some stroke of genius, can you name both of these players who stole second, third, and home in the same inning ?

Last night I posted a video of Rick Camp's homer in the bottom of the 18th to tie the game 11-11 against the Mets on the 4th of July, 1985. The game started at 7:05 pm on the 4th, went 19 innings, had several rain delays, and finally ended at 3:55am on July 5. Fireworks were shot off about 4:05 am and many people who had gone to bed were awakened by the blasts and thought the city of Atlanta was under attack.

In the top of the 17th inning, both Darryl Strawberry and Manager Davey Johnson were ejected by umpire Terry Tata for arguing balls and strikes. When Johnson questioned Tata's strike call , Tata responded, " Davey, at three o'clock in the morning, anything's a strike."

You seem proud of the fact that you said Greene would give up HRS tonight.
We get it. You hate Greene. Funny I never see you bash Ashcraft or Lodolo when they pitch. They are also rookies. Things that make you go Hmm.Race card played it appears...

1. Pete Rose (1980 for Phils against Reds)

2. Dusty Baker(1984 for Giants against Reds)

Ball in dirt
High throw
India out stealing easily
Maybe speed isn’t his game

As sophomore slumps go, India’s is a doozy. He’s been bi
utt-cheeks in every phase of the game.

Hoping the speed is something he’ll get back; possibly a by-product of the lingering hammy injury.

But right now, he is quite stinky.

I considered both of those guys but someone said they’d never guess in a minion guesses so I went lesser known players

Only thing uglier than those hats is the Reds...sigh...BP is ABSOLUTELY TURRIBLE! Only thing positive about this season is Drury...who can name something else?

More confirmation that this team is extremely bad.

I’m losing confidence in India

I wonder if the guys in the bullpen know how bad they are, or are they like, “These other guys are really bad, but if I just get the right chance, I’ll show everybody.”

I guess Schrock goes down. He’s got an option. Then gets recalled after Reds trade somebody.

Or they IL somebody. Farmer is injured but it’s day to day.

Another way to make room is to DFA the Reds’ bullpen.

We’ll snag up Druw Jones and bring him up at age 25 and he’ll be fat and slow in 2 years and will fit right in

Votto and Moustakas have been offensive black holes all year. If they trade Castillo they better get a legitimate LH bat in the return.

And Casas scares me.

Not hitting but both are prolly somewhat mentally consumed on the pressure as to whether or not they’ll make their country’s 4x100 national team

All these Reds games are the same. Competitive until the bullpen takes over.

You think the Reds will figure that out for next season?

The Reds probably have the worst LH hitting in baseball right now. Naquin will be a welcome addition. Roster construction, fellas.

I think Votto's done, but MLBPA won't allow the necessary to happen.
