Interesting matchup. The Mets have been flying high this year and I think they are for real.

They just took 4 out of 5 from their nemesis the Braves and gave themselves a nice cushion for 1st place. So I'm thinking maybe they'll be a little let up this series by the Mets.

Not understanding the Mike Moustakas hate. The guy has been a world champion, over 200 career HR, 4x 30+ doubles, multi time all-star….he’s got it all.

This year he’s 3rd in WAR if you just consider him, Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. His baserunning is elite and his caught stealing proves it. Arenado and Machado get all the flashy pub and defensive awards but Moose is right there with them outside of range, consistency, accuracy amongst other things.

The guy can rake….he’s never even been struck out by Nolan Ryan, Greg Maddux or Brett Favre. And this season?????….Homer Bailey hasn’t got him out a single time!

Play the man, don’t hate the man!

I wish we had 2 Mooses….Meese? Moosai?

Senzel is at third since Moose left with foot or something. This is perhaps not the place to say this but I seriously believe Senzel should be placed at third base. Being at his home position, he can dive left or dive right. No walls to run into. He'll start hitting more if he stays at third.

I am not sure there has ever been a player that I wanted so badly to be good.....but just isn't as Aquino. If the guy could just hit around .250 with 30+ HR's, he would be a heck of player with his ability in the field and speed.

Mister Adkindo. You have no grade point average. All postings. Incomplete.

Your left arm is straight, but you're not keeping your head down.

Always try to hit through the ball.

Don't think of it as work. The whole point is just to enjoy yourself.

I’m the same way with him. Just loved the guy and I kept thinking he was going to get back his 2019 form. But it’s just not going to happen. He’s been given ample opportunity.

I have tried to make excuses for him in the past.....but they have kind of ran out. Crazy the gap between AAA and MLB.

Ditto for me. He just doesn't seem to have any pitch recognition whatsoever. I don't think that's anything that's gonna change although I wish someone could teach it to him.

He has got to be the fattest baseball player ever right?

So much for Aquino's defense

Aquino just looked like he's never played in the outfield before. What a horrible attempt.

So is Hendrix going to be another failed young bullpen arm that thrives elsewhere.

Yep. Played poorly. But let's face it, we had very little chance to do anything in the 9th anyway. Peace out!

Aquino got pretzeled up on that triple by Naquin. He probably should have caught it. Almost hit him in the head.

I think Aquino could be a good fit on a team with offense all around him in the same way Hamilton could be. Of course, as I was typing that he did whatever the heck that was out there in the outfield, lol.

Did they warn Hendrix? Is that what Bell was fired up about

Tony Cloninger

Hendrix had 2 outs then gives up a walk and double. How about not effin around to get it to that point.

I don't now what got into Naquin, but this is the best he has looked all year since the trade.

I too wondered what Bell was all fired up about.

Hendrix was a little wild but certainly didn’t seem to be throwing at anyone.

Yep, he was playing pretty far in and had to run a long way back to the fence and twisted and turned himself into a mess

Speaking of sloppy looking, I remember the time Marty and Joe went off on Eric Gregg and startied insulting him for his fat body and being too out of shape to call games. Not sure which game it was but maybe the Eric Davis/ Ray Knight fight game that set them off. It was some serious fat-shaming.

If you offered me a bet early in this game.....the Mets over/under 5 runs by the 8th inning....I would have jumped at it and lost money

guess I would have pushed after all

Eric would have done well to take heed, sadly enough.

Eric....there was a guy that did not believe in having an ounce of extra body fat....or he just had a fast metabolism

Reds bullpen is what got into him...That'll cure a lot of hitters

A few things

The scorer taking 7 innings to remove a hit when Alonso dropped the ball???? He’s lost.

Almora…if he gets to it, he catches it….a tremendous tremendous play and he made it look easy. Aquino had a similar opportunity and looked bad.

What was Bell tore up about?

Good to see Barrero getting some hits.

Naquin is a good dude and helping a very good team.

The pitching matchups in this series are B-R-U-T-A-L… we don’t even see Scherzer and deGrom. Mets are pretty good. I don’t want to live in a world where I have to say that.

I don’t know. After the “besides that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?” start, the Reds have played decently.

Good news on Reds injury front:
Jonathan India and Mike Moustakas both say they left the game for precautionary reasons.

India said no MRI scheduled and "they're just trying to be careful."

Moustakas said he'll have to see how his calf feels tomorrow, but it was feeling better after the game. India says he plans to be in the lineup tomorrow.

41-42 since the start-of-which-we-shall-not-speak. With no Winker, no Castellanos, only short cameo-appearances by Stephenson and India, no more superhero Votto… not to mention no Wade Miley, less Tyler Mahle, and the same bullpen woes. Like it or not, David Bell has done a fantastic job this year. I’m not sure if he’s the guy to lead the team to postseason glory once the kids get here - but this is a 100-loss roster that’s going to finish with a better record than 6-8 teams.
