Their last 2 playoff losses saw them struggle badly just to get 20 points., hardly any impressive number
Their offense, despite the talent and reputation, generally slows down quite a bit in the postseason. Perhaps they should put more effort there instead of assuming it’s good enough as is
I think the Bengals are nit worried about scoring. They're worried about stopping the other team from scoring given all the elite QBs in the AFC. Taking a TE isn't going to help them stop Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson or Mahomes. Time will tell whether this strategy works

Handful of solid RBs still on the board - Israel Abanikanda, Eric Gray, DeWayne McBride, Sean Tucker, Chase Brown...

I believe that was largely due to the offensive line and not skill players. They could use a better running back and a replacement for Hurst but the offensive line was already in a much better place than at end of last year than it was before the draft.

Agree. It was the OL injuries that slowed down the offense the last 2 years. Reiff in 2021 and almost everyone last year. That being said, the OL in 2021 was terrible.

So Charlie Jones, a 25-year-old as a rookie backup receiver is their next pick

Lots of speed and he can return kicks...a bit older than the Bengals typically choose

He's not going to stay home and punt 12 million...though they usually take lineman in the 4th
It’s his entitled attitude or the smell of it that is disappointing

Getting Brown in the 5th is a nice move for the Bengals

Sounds like a good prospect with speed and vision. Had some fumble issues, but if he works on that could be real find

So the constant high fives and over the top celebrations are not annoying anyone at all then. Is that a mandate from the NFL?

Maybe the sign out front that says "Tight Ends Wanted" will enable them to sign post-draft players and thye have a few in mind?

Everybody and their Mama knows this is because of the injuries and inefficiency of the Offensive Line. They lost two of their Starting three Free Agent signings and their 4-year LT was ineffective. They solved most of these problems with the addition of Orlando Brown at LT. We don't have to worry about that spot. C and RG will be solid. LG was very good for a Rookie, while we have other options still at LG with young players getting another year of development and some players with 20+ starts under them improving. We have RT covered with a Starter that will return who says everything is going well in rehab. We have a 3-year Starter from the Left side who will be asked "to compete" to Start. We have our LG who had a very good Rookie season available to compete at RT. We are loaded at RT as there are other options, too. We have got the O-Line covered. Players do improve from year to year and we have several that will.
We added two Wide Receivers to compete for the 4th WR spot in the pecking order, though possibly as a direct backup to Higgins or Chase. We have a ton of depth everywhere which will sort it out over the next nine months.

They solved the LT position, but still have a huge ? at RT - either a mediocre/average LT coming off an injury switching sides to a position he apparently does not want to play or an older, more injured Collins returns late in the year, or Carmen - an unquestioned bust so far - will play there. Is that an overall improvement?
And if last year was largely because of injuries - and I agree injuries were key - what happens if Brown or Karras or Cappa get hurt again this year? They still have Carmen, Adenji, Smith, and Hill backing up just like last year. Does the one year of experience make them less awful than they were?
That’s my concern but hopefully I’m being paranoid or overly concerned. If I am, I can accept it, but I see potential for the exact same issues this year.
I’ve probably complained too much, do I’ll drop it now and hope for the best

I did forget about the addition of Ford. Maybe he helps if needed

Switching to RT after a season where playing injured likely hurt his performance could cost him a lot of money in FA. I don't blame him for wanting a trade to maximize his value on the market, and I don't blame the Bengals for saying no. It's just business

I remember the Bengals used to draft Bearcats. Greg Cook the most famous one. Then some mediocre ones in the 90s. Then they stayed away from some good ones. The obvious ones being the Kelce brothers. Why are they loathe to draft or even sign them as UFA? That LB would have been nice as a UFA.

Shedrick Jackson is Bo Jackson's nephew and Shaka Heyward is related to Cam Heyward.
Kirkland could be interesting.

He’s not going to lose that much money. He’s not really been a good LT to begin with. Average at best. More confident in his abilities than production.
His attitude in contrast to Whitworth, who was moved to G after being drafted as a T, yet he can’t even be bothered to consider a move to RT. Good riddance. But Bengals don’t like players who pull this stuff. They would have been better off trading him for 4th or 5th. Signing another T. Drafting one. Maybe even ask for a 3rd if the pay half his salary.
