Yea Stoudt is going to have to gut through at least 3-4 innings with how the bullpen has been taxed lately. I'm not too upset. It was clear this year is all about which young guys will be in the mix in 2024 and beyond. Stoudt will go back down to Louisville and if he has some sustained success there, we'll see him back in Cincy at some point.

Although I'm pretty disappointed in his stuff, I was much higher on him before seeing him actually pitch.

This happens to good pitchers. There's a story in the Baltimore Bugle from 1909 that Old Hoss Radbourne suffered from jet lag after he read that Orville had pitched Wilbur out onto a load of hay north of Dayton. These stories tend to take on their own life form.

I had on the Reds streaming WLW the other night and it was patched through a feed from Chicago that was clearly the Cubs network. All the commercials were about the Cubs. So I switched to the Rays broadcast and it was the same thing -- ads from Des Moines which is obviously aimed at Cubs fans.

It's not only an insult to the fans, the opposing team and the team on the field, but well ... hell people from other planets are looking in. It's also dangerous if you get some huckleberry who rears back and tries to blow a 67 mph heater at somebody and ends up bashing him in the head.
