Happy for Senzel and Bell sticking by him has helped. As I would not have wasted my time on him after last year.

The handling of the lineups as always is disappointing. This isn’t the Rays or Dodgers. Or really anyone that’s a 500 team that you can set like those teams. Everyone plays only works if they are at least average. Newman and Reynolds are ok to play but not as much as they end up doing. That’s the beef you get.

Even if TI hit even better against LHP then he has would it still be enough for Bell to start him. Fraley I understand

I noticed Steer was confused on 1-1 pitch. He was expecting a big looper and got a fat fastball that he took.

His pitches are high and outside. Sometimes they are strikes. But they are swinging at a lot of balls.

I think the umpires in New York felt they had to assume some distance between the foot and the glove and that wasn’t definitive enough to overturn. Looked clear to me, but our view is looking at the foot and whatever is happening beyond it.

The ump made a mistake because the ball arrived before the runner did. But that’s what replay is supposed to fix. The tag was not made in time. Incompetent or scared to make a decision in the replay booth.

I would be filing a complaint with MLB to review who is making that decision. It will probably end up in the in box at Dunder Mifflin.

I just looked it up now. I won't give the answers. But Sparky was dumb on 2 pitchers in that series. IMO both should have started every game they appeared in. Reds should have won a minimum of 3 world series under Sparky if not 4. They had more talent than every team in the majors during that stretch.

Yep and took 3 and a half years to figure out Foster needed to play regular.
Like I said earlier. Most talent hands down in the majors during most of his tenure. Should have had 3 minimum and probably 4 world series championships under him.
Norman, Billingham (especially Inpostseason) and Grimsley all got jerked around.


TBF he was almost Aquino with the bat in 1972. He barely hit 200 and Bb/K ratio was horrible. Rose. Tolan. Geronimo. Hal McRae.

They had Rose. Tolan. Geronimo. Schienblum. Then they got Kosco. In 1973.

In 1974 I agree he should have played more. But they still had Rose. Geronimo. Rettenmund and Griffey. Driessen was play 3B.


And wow. What horrific AB from Stephenson after India was almost as bad. Or give the pitcher credit?

Diaz trying to pitch around the hitter to load the bases to set up a force at home rather than a tag play on a must retire runner. So he tries to hit him to put him on, but gets a foul. Then he tries to throw breaking pitches well outside and the guy bloops it in for the walk off!

At what now 6-23 the As are still due to win a game once in a while and the Reds were due to lose the winning streak at some point. So be it. Actually the series shed some light on how bad it’s gotten for Oakland of late for me.

I can either ridicule our hitters for making one ground ball out in the 9th with the go-aheads on base, or I can applaud the A's reliever for bowing his neck and doing what he had to do. I seem them as the 2nd wild card, down 11-3 in the 9th and some yokel like Pete Kozma, dragged in because Boondersnub got hurt, and well ... that should be enough. Wainwright will probably go 16-0 once he finishes rehab.
