He'll be 27 in August and arb eligible. Might be the right time, but I'd need someone who provides an immediate answer through the Greene, Lodolo, Ashcraft era. Probably not an All Star, but some one who is an every day player or mid-rotation starter

The young starters would feel pressure even with average 4-5 starters. I don’t think they are putting anymore pressure because of it. Green just can’t consistently get his other pitches over. Lodolo has locations issues lately.

April 1, early in the year, this guy with a limited innings base went 109 pitches. April 8, 106 more pitches. April 13, 97 pitches. April 18 he gave up 3 HR, 8 ER and still went 101 pitches. He's looked awful ever since. I wonder if they had better performances in spots 4 and 5 if those high pitch counts so early in the season wouldn't have been necessary. I don't think its a coincicdence.

They are skipping Cessa. I think Lodolo is the guy they should skip. Cessa doesn't really matter. They need Lodolo to get right.

Friedl 's a guy who can hit, run , and catch baseballs. One of few, if any, Reds who can do all three well. He's one of those guys who's just a ballplayer. In my opinion, you have your ballplayers in the lineup every day, especially when you have so few guys like that.

According to TV they had some sort of Johnny Bench hand out. Looks like the freebies are the only thing that draws crowds.
I've said this before and I'll say it again.
Even if the Reds were good. They still wouldn't have sell outs even in a 42k seat park Cincinnati is not a baseball town never has been never will be.
Even one of the best teams in history didn't draw crowds unless it was a summer weekend game or the Dodgers were in town.
Lots of 10k crowds during the BRM era.
Cincinnati is simply the oldest baseball club nothing else. They draw 25-30 K only if it's Saturday and some corny free handout. I get why some don't wanna give this clown ownership their money. But this isn't about that. History shows if they were a 108 win team. Crowds wouldn't always be great.

Friedl is a Ball player and if Bell or whatever front office genius that makes the lineup decides to Bench him next time a LHP starts. Then that person needs fired on the spot.

This team is fun to watch. Imagine if the FO had just addressed the 4th and 5th starters. Would likely be .500 club right now.

We would have a real shot at being at least a .500 with legitimate 4th and 5th starters. The team plays hard(not always well) but are handcuffed two games out of five because of not having legitimate starters on those days. It's really an inexcusable faux pas by management/ownership, although the faux pas may have been just a willingness to be non-competitive.
