This Wisconsin team got beat by Indiana earlier in the year. The Badgers were without Mordecai.
I'm impressed the way their defense has played against the #1 scoring offense in college football.

Just goes to show the OC wasn’t the issue. It was/is his Father’s questionable roster management. No excuse for lacking at least a somewhat athletic QB behind McNamara.

I wonder how long the Group of 5 (or whatever their name is) will be able to stave off having their playoff auto-bid yanked away from them. Just give it some time…and wait for a G5 team to get a spot in front of a blue blood…and the G5 team gets blown out.

The SEC is definitely better, but I'm not sure you can take that from most of these games. OSU with a healthy QB and Marvin Harrison would have beaten Missouri handily.
We will find out in a couple hours, but I think the SEC probably has 2 teams better than anyone in the B10.

You claim you are happy with Tennessee going 8-4, well Iowa is a step better than that.
https://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread.php?125325-2023-NCAA-Football-We-Don-t-Give-a-*Bleep*-For-the-Whole-State-of-Michigan&p=4655301&viewfull=1#post4655301
Anyone see that 5* Tennessee (backup) QB I was mentioning?
Great, if they have so many 5 stars and elite QBs then why is Tennesssee back to the last twenty years run of being a complete dumspter fire? Outside Bama and Georgia the SEC is pretty bad this year When Missouri or Ole Miss, who never beats anyone in a big game, are your #3 and #4 teams - blech...
The Big Ten West is boring football but it all changes when the Pac 12 powers come into the conference. Iowa is a decent team with an elite D. Fickell will have Wisconsin back in a year or two.
New Mexico State 31 Auburn 10
Auburn Vandy, Miss State, Arkansas, little USC, Florida and Kentucky are dreadful
Ga/Bama - osu/Mich
Missouri/Ole Miss - PSU/Iowa
Ole Miss beat PSU. You seriously think Iowa is at that level?
I was not even impressed with Iowa's defense. My Vols faced several defenses in the SEC that were better

Any of you Eastern time zoners going to make it to/through the second half? Late one.
As someone who no longer resides in the Eastern Time Zone - and have been fortunate enough to be able to set my own work schedule even when I lived in the Eastern Time Zone - it is simply indefensible to not begin these championship games two hours earlier.

It’s only because the Rose Bowl is completely precious about a 2pm local kick. This all would have started at least an hour earlier of it wasn’t for that.

Sports Illustrated is also questioning that last play call from Alabama:
College Football Fans Could Not Believe Alabama’s Baffling Final Play to Lose the Rose Bowl
On Alabama’s last play in overtime, however, many college football fans were left stunned and confused at the Tide's gotta-have-it play-calling decision.
On a fourth-and-3, Milroe appeared to execute a quarterback draw that got stuffed at the line of scrimmage.
I didn't think the snap was bad enough to change the play so I disagree with this:
Upon closer inspection, the original call may have been different. Based on Alabama running back Roydell Williams's route, Milroe may have intended to throw a quick pass to Williams in motion, but Milroe received a low snap that caused him to abort the play and take it himself.
I agree with this from Mike Greenberg:
Nick Saban is the greatest coach in the history of the sport. But #Alabama offensive plan made no sense all night. And that last call was inexplicable.

The last play was an RPO. He was going to throw it out to his left to the RB for a TD. The snap was on the ground and it messed up the timing and he panicked and ran. The play call was good though. You look at the position of the running back at the snap vs the LB covering him, they had it.

The announcers in this game must be the two nicest people in the business. They just continue to avoid the miscues. Throwing on 3rd down instead of running the ball and forcing Texas to use their second time out. Running plays instead of taking knee. The kick interference. Should have been a zero stress win with them literally taking knees to run out the clock once they secured the onside kick.

I'm just wondering if UW had any recourse there. Could the coach spot the injury and just tell the player to stay down and don't signal for the staff...and then the coach tells the ref he'll be calling TO with 1 sec left on the play clock....surely there was a way...

Punt into the end zone and stands with 15-20 seconds left... thats what I was screaming at the TV. Well not really since it was 1230 and everyone else at the house was sleeping
Big Ten once again getting stomped by the SEC. Most of these games had the Big Ten as the higher ranked team. The media over ranks the Big Ten. If this trend continues, it doesn’t look good for Michigan tonight
And once again you're wrong. You are such a troll in these discussions. LMAO
Stomped? The B10 went 2-4 vs the SEC. And IMO, if OSU had their full squad vs Missouri, it would have been a 3-3 record. Most could give a damn about those other meaningless Bowl games, and even you said they would be hard to call because of the opt-outs. So go ahead and celebrate.
Overall, both the B10 and SEC finished 5-4.
The B10 won the one that matters. Is the SEC in the championship game? NOT! Sitting home watching with the rest of them.
And if Washington's HC calls a game like last night, we may be celebrating a B10 National Championship. Who cares about the rest. The SEC can have a winning record vs the B10 every Bowl season as long as we win the one that counts.

They had Iowa at #17, but they weren't favored vs the Vols. Check again.
#7 vs #9 and #10 vs #11. Pretty even matchups if you ask me. When they are that close those rankings mean very little to me. Pretty even matchups IMO. But again.
The ACC was 6-4 vs the SEC in the regular season, and 2-0 in the Bowl games vs SEC.
I've stated before that the SEC is still the #1 conference in the land. But their hold is quite tenuous IMO. They are starting to show chinks in their armor. It comes down to the battle of the elites. The B10 and Pac10 won, and the SEC lost.
I think a lot of these "elite" teams, in any conference, are going to get exposed when the playoff system is initiated.
What makes some OSU fans think that Michigan wins will be vacated this year? Based on what the media, and ESPN, has fed us? We don't have all the details or evidence before us. The NCAA investigation won't conclude till approximately May.
My "hatred" for Michigan has always been based on sports competitive aspect. Not some vitriol hatred. I don't get that addicted to sports anymore though. lol

If Michigan doesn’t get the last three years vacated the NCAA is completely toothless now.
No thanks
And that's many B10 fan's problem. I'm sure there's no love lost between 'Bama and Georgia. But if I was a 'Bama fan, I'm not going to get pissed off and act childish because Georgia beat me and ended up winning a NC. To me that's just a big win for the conference I support. You go at it again next year.
I never agreed with Woody's over-the-top hatred for Michigan. Kind of ridiculous IMO. LOL

As much as I hate to say it, I think Michigan will win. I don’t see Washington’s defense being able to slow down UM’s ground game a whole lot. Penix will make it interesting because he’s fearless and if UM shoots themselves in the foot too much (they tried last night), it could swing the other way. Buuuut I think this is Michigan’s year.
Michigan is going to have to play a much tighter game than they did yesterday if they want to beat Washington.

Do you honestly think Michigan fans have been rooting for OSU the last 2 decades? Give me a break.
Also, the biggest issue I have with Michigan this year is that they have been cheating the last 3 years. They do not deserve to be playing for a national title. Its a joke.

That'll be their issue for sure.
I'm a Michigan fan so I'm not saying this to be a hater. It's just that they walked all over Alabama yesterday and barely escaped with a win when then should have had that game put away early.

Michigan is sound in the trenches on both sides of the ball but they were susceptible to self inflicted mistakes.

When it comes to total defense, Washington's not even on the radar! LOL
I think this is where the B10 shines in what they do best - pound the ball on the ground, and play defense. I glanced at the Huskie's schedule, and I don;'t think they faced a defense that was even close to a Michigan, OSU, or Penn State (top three defenses nationally). I have a lot of respect for Penix; but think he's going to have his hands full vs the Wolverine's defense.

I don't care what Michigan fans did or didn't do, or how they feel (lol). I don't have a obsessive-compulsive behavior when it come to "the game". I love the competition, but it's a friggin football game. I know OSU fans right now who are beside themselves, in depression, over losing to Michigan. It's stupid IMO.

Let them play. I'm content to let the NCAA do their investigation, gather/weigh all the evidence - we haven't seen it all - and then render a judgment. If it's grievous enough, and shows sound justification, then yes, vacate wins. I'm a patient man. I'm not exonerating Harbaugh/Michigan; but I am not a vindictive person either. I want ALL the facts discovered, nothing over-looked, and due process.
If it's there, Harbaugh/Michigan will get theirs.

They won't through, they will still claim it as a national championship.
All this will prove is that cheating works. I have a problem with that. Just like the 17 Astros.

What would Washington's defense ranking be if they played in the B1G this year, though? Instead they had to play against Oregon twice, USC with Caleb Williams, Wash St with a dynamic QB, so on and so forth.

With Michigan likely getting away with cheating en route to winning a national title, I see zero reason everyone else doesn't just go balls to the wall and cheat with regard to everything. The integrity of the sport is ruined.
Cheat, if you get caught, have all your buddies in the local and national media muddy the waters, suspend your coach for a few games (games only - he is still allowed to be at all practices leading up to games) and get away with it.

The SEC was definitely down this year but even with that, it was "the #1 conference in the land". PAC was #2
B10 was strong as usual with Mich and OSU but as someone else stated here, the rest of the conference was "hot garbage".
