Easily one of the greatest sportswriters of all time.

Feinstein was such a great story teller. I have read and listened to quite a few of his books. Always had a northeast flare to him. But one thing that was fantastic is he started out writing a book on the mid majors path to the NCAA tournament. I believe he did the color for UMBC and was writing the book the exact season that UMBC beat Virginia in the tournament. Imagine writing a book on a conference that you expect to maybe make the tournament but lose in the first round, only to pull the biggest upset in NCAA Tournament history.

NYT said a heart attack while at his brothers house.

Great sports writer and I loved his books.

One of the great things about Feinstein was that you didn’t have to be a fan of the team, or conference, or even the sport, he was writing about to enjoy his books. He’ll be missed.

Feinstein was the best radio guest Tony Kornheiser ever had - they'd argue and pick on each other, it was hilarious. Tony called Feinstein Jr. for some reason, at some point, Feinstein stopped coming on - it was a huge loss. RIP Jr.
