Loved that guy in the 90s. Didn't think he'd ever stop fighting. Probably part of the reason he died today and not in 10 years.

Went to one of his fights with my Mom (she was from that era in the '50's when men AND women were extremely knowledgeable about boxing and truly enjoyed the science of boxing) along with some other good boxers on the card. Foreman was always the entertainer. His charisma was unmatched...a 1000 times better than Ali's, as Ali's was all about himself and Foreman's was all about the fans.
Coming from a World elite boxing community, I truly appreciated all that he did for the sport. Foreman was more responsible than anyone for making the sport thrive for a decade longer than it would have without him.
RIP, George.
"Grill 'Em! Grill 'Em! Grill 'Em!"
The Blazers used those words from Foreman and his video image after his Rose Garden Boxing match during the middle of Blazer runs. Probably used that image for a decade at the Blazer games.
Michael Scott couldn't have grilled his foot without him.

Rewatched the Michael Moorer fight, just yesterday. George set Moorer up in those early rounds. Wanted to lull him into a false sense of security so Moorer would get reckless in those late rounds when Big George would go for the knockout punch. It worked to perfection. Such a cerebral fighter. Intimidating power in his prime. Bigger than life persona. One of the best ever. RIP, Big George.

Foreman had only 18 fights. That Russian had so many he was bald.

Sometime during the mid-1980s or maybe the early 1990s, while George Foreman was making his return to boxing, he was a guest on "The Tonight Show." Johnny Carson asked him if his next opponent was a good fighter. Foreman replied: "Oh, I hope not." Carson cracked up (I did too).
George Foreman was one of the most original personalities ever. Olympic gold medal champion as a teenager, heavyweight world boxing champion in his early 20s, left boxing in his later 20s after losing to Ali, returned to boxing and again became world heavyweight champion at age 45, father of a dozen children including six sons each named George, minister, co-owner and pitchman for the George Foreman Grill, millionaire, and comedian.

Sadly George Foreman has passed away. I’ve always loved George and he will be sorely missed. It sucks getting old and watching all these legends pass away!

Yep, he was a character and he enjoyed a fulfilling exciting life. Of course his life doesn't lend itself to longevity but 76 isn't bad

I would venture to guess every household has had a George Foreman grill at least for a period of time. I remember when we would vacation at a beach house and would bring it along and fix great meals to offset the expense from eating out all the time. Nothing like a great cheeseburger after being on the beach.
