What's your prediction for the game?
Mine:
Seahawks 24
Patriots 16
MVP: Darnold

Seattle 20
New England 10
MVP: Someone on Seattle's defense, I’ll guess Emanwori
I'm rootin for Vrabel and the Patriots. But I think Seattle wins. Got my doubts on QB Maye in this one.

So far, no one picking the Patriots. Interesting.
IMO, the key to a Patriot victory is if their defense can keep up their success in the post-season and bring pressure on Darnold, like they did with Stroud and Herbert. Darnold was tied for 3rd in the league with 14 INTs, but has perfromed well in the post-season when under pressure.
But both of these team's defense are going to be pressuring the QB.
Can the Patriots slow Jaxon Smith-Njigba down?

Old school NFC blowout.
Seattle - 34
NE - 6

I guess I’ll be the one.
McDonald is good but the coaching edge goes to Vrabel. I think he will find a way to somewhat control the game flow.
Pats have been excellent against the run when Milton Williams is healthy, like he is now.
Darnold has been turnover prone in the regular season but excellent in the playoffs. Maye has been the opposite but his playoff games were played in pretty awful weather. I think each QB will have at least one INT. If Maye’s shoulder is worse than they’re letting on, all bets are off.
Both teams will be able to move the ball despite good defense on both sides. The Seahawks have the most efficient offense in the NFL; it’s why their OC Kubiak was hired as head coach of the Raiders.
I can’t stand the Patriots and I hope the Seahawks blow them out (and they might!). The Pats fans in my life are obnoxious and a good friend of mine is a non-obnoxious Seahawks fan so I’m rooting for them, but…

Vrabel is a good coach but I don't think there's any more evidence that he's a better coach other than years of experience. He sat on the market unemployed last year.

The Patriots were 6th overall in rushing yardage, and 4th overall in passing yardage. Statistically they have the edge on Seattle. But, IMO, if the Patriots can't run the ball they'll be in trouble.
The Patriot's Friday Injury Report listed Maye as a full participant in practice, and Maye saying he feels great and is 100%. We'll see.

For advanced stats, the Seahawks have the 5th highest weighted DVOA of any team in the Super Bowl era. They’re just a very strong team all the way around. The Patriots are behind in that category but have been closing the gap as they’ve improved throughout the season. Should be a good game but crazy shizz happens in the SB sometimes, so who knows.

Terrible game.
But production-wise and the stadium colors on my screen are just top-notch. Cool visual.

Maye not looking big enough for the moment. I know Seattle has a great defense, but he’s holding onto the ball too long at times and simply not hitting guys when they are open.

Not sure who Maye's backup is, but they might want to give him a try.

I'm not watching the game. I refuse. But I believe, with a healthy Burrow, Chase, and Tee and a defense that was playing a bit better late in the season, the Bengals would beat this Patriots team today.

Flashback to 2017?
This took 2 minutes to age poorly.
Can we now stop calling Maye, Brady 2.0?

Maye was lucky the 1st throw he chucked high in the air, into triple coverage, wasn’t picked. Not so lucky the second time though. Basically Hail Mary throws

Maye hasn't been great but the Pats o-line is doing an impression of the 2021-22 Bengals line. Not much he could do about this. I'm not sure Josh Dobbs would be the answer.

This is justification for everyone who pointed out how weak the Pats schedule was. I’m a Jags fan and I can tell you the two games this year where it felt like a straight up loss were Seattle and when the Rams kicked our teeth in. Not surprising at all that the NFC Championship game was probably the real title match this year.

As bad as Maye has played, still got to give credit to the Seattle defense. They obviously came to play.
Congratulations to the Seahawks!

It’s Josh Dobbs, former Tennessee Vol. Dobbs could have provided a different look with his running ability. I do think he should have been tried for a series or two
I think every NFC playoff team with the exception of Carolina would’ve won last night vs NE

Impressed with the defenses. Very unimpressed with the performance of both QBs. Maye sitting in the pocket too long, waiting to be sacked, and both QBs, especially Darnold, making a lot of bad throws, missing wide open receivers.
These were the two best teams in the NFL facing off? Very boring game for me. But again, the defenses were awesome.

Reminiscent of Tent Dilfer and the Ravens D, when they won it...Great defense and a not-so good QB.

The entire AFC should be embarrassed for letting this Patriots team get to the Super Bowl.
