Sava,

I think you might want to even out the stats on the Hitters and Pitchers. Not to me people like playing with uneven numbers. It makes hitters worth more than pitchers the way you have it.

Okay, I'll see what I can do. This is how I set it up last year, but I'll take another look at the stats and see what I can figure.

I added GIDP and outs for pitchers

I'm in sava. I might be a little late getting to the draft, but I'll prerank for about 3-5 rounds of players and should be able to jump in just in time for my "steals of the draft"

Ravenlord

do they have HBP, SF, and SH for hitters?

Johnny Footstool

Sava, you might want to reduce the number of IP allowed. 2000 innings is WAY high - you would need 10 pitchers to throw 200 innings each to reach that number. If you leave it that high, teams will start "drafting and dropping" -- picking up a pitcher for one start, then dumping him and picking up someone else for one start. This can cause a lot problems in the league -- my league went through the same thing last year.

I added HBP, SF and SH for hitters and TB, ER and BB for pitchers.

I also made it so that you have to have at least 2 RP, and 2 misc. pitchers instead of 4 misc. pitchers.

What does everyone think about the maximum of innings pitched? What would be a good number?

Redny

I miltiplied 8.5 innings by 162 games and came up with 1377, round up to 1400 and that seems about right.

This draft is in 2 days and there are 8 people in the league. It can hold up to 14 teams. If you are interested in fantasy baseball, please sign up for this league. We NEED more teams.

Thanks.

I'm hoping we can get 4 more people from here, but those in the league already, let me know. We could do the season with 10 teams if necessary, or I could go to another message board sometime on Friday and try and recruit if the last spots aren't filled. Opinions?

Ravenlord

go with recruitment...more teams=more fun

Just wanted to let all of you know that I will probably miss the draft tonight. I have pre-ranked and am playing that game of Russian roulette with Yahoo in picking my team. I am leaving for vacation very early tomorrow and have a 5 year old and a 6 month old that I have to get packed and ready to go. I still have to make a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things that are needed and I don't get off work until 6pm, so the draft is looking like a stretch, considering I have to feed my 6 month old sometime around then as well. Good luck to all in the draft. I will probably be checking out my team later tonight (9-10 after the kids are in bed) or so to see how it turned out. If you want to send a trade offer to me, you can send it through the Yahoo link and I'll be able to get it tonight. Anything after that will have to wait until next Sunday, 03/07. Thanks.

We need at least 1 more, you can't draft on Yahoo with an odd number of teams...has to be an even number.

Thought I'd be the first to post my team. Overall I'm pretty happy. I do have quite a few high-risk/high-reward guys though, which concerns me to some extent.

I need to find another SS though, as I don't think FeLo will play that much. Don't know what I was thinking there exactly, but I thought I'd take a shot.

My pitching is pretty good, and I think I've got enough depth there that I could go out and get some more offense.

I'd be interested to know what everyone thinks about my team, I'm always looking for other opinions.

other than your team, who has the best team in this league?

I was looking at all the teams, and I couldn't come up with one that really jumped out at me. I think the whole league is fairly balanced. Sure, some have more offense than others, but they make up for it with pitching, and vice versa. I don't think there's a clear frontrunner in the league at the moment. Maybe I'm wrong though.

i think it'll be about a month into the season (or until ST injuries happen) before we'll know what's what and who's who.
