Better to have extra relief pitchers or starters?

Better not to have any extra pitchers and use the slots for batters? Actually, I think this is wrong in my case. I really need to improve my pitching through better tinkering.

I always go with extra starters, but then again, I usually lose. :o

It depends on the league. If you have inning limits for pitchers, I'd say it's better to have extra closers. They can score a lot of points without eating up innings. If your league limits the number of games for Relief Pitchers, then you only want 2-3 closers (good ones).

It's smart to carry at least two extra outfielders, too. By the end of the year, you almost always need them.
