I think I will release him in my season now and bring up Jung Bong who is tearing it up in AAA Louisville w/ a 1.12 era and a 4-1 record. Anyone have trouble hitting HR's w/ lefty's in the game? I have 6 w/ kearns and 4 w/ larue, but none from griffey, casey, or dunn (only hr's they have are the games i simulated)

Wow through about 40-45 games I have 10 HR's with Jr and 5 or 6 with Big Case. Case is leading the league in hits and doubles. Kearns has 13 bombs and is doin pretty good. Jimmy is actually my best starter so I cant release him though I would probably like to on principal.

In a related note, after playing through a season w/ the Reds on Dynasty mode, TVP finished 6th in Cy Young voting for the 04 season!

Paul Wilson is 4-1 w/ 2 cg's (1 sho) leads league w/ 44 ip and a 2.05 era
SYC minibus, you hit all those yourself or on sim?

Some of those on SIM but especially with JR most were by me playing it. Haha for me Paul Wilson is now 1-7 with a 5.60+ ERA. With lefties I have noticed you have to hit the ball to center or left center they dont pull too much.

Jimmah's ratings, control, stamina, were all too high. If you sim through a season he's close to a Cy nominee.... PW is 3-0 for me with Acevedo at 2-0, Harang at 2-1 Lidle at 1-1 and Claussen at 1 - 0.... Reith has a 6.7 era with an 0-4 records while Norton is 0-3 with a 7.84 era... (He's in AAA, and Sanchez replaced him)

I miss High Heat Baseball. Their simulations were a little more realistic.

Wilson was horrible for me, complained in Louisville, so I sent him down to help out the Lookouts.

Haynes was my top pitcher, BUT he's history now.

did u create Lidle??? He is not anywhere in my game. Also my pen especially Reith, Reilding, Wagner (closer, Gravey is a starter), and Norton all have ERA's of under 2.00. Wagner is flat unhitable.

I've never noticed a problem and I use PS2.

There is a quirk though.

I can't remember the last time I hit a bomb down the Right Field line with Dunn or Griff.

With Kearns and Miguel Cabrera(whom I traded Haynes, Larson and an AA player for) I can yank it all over the park and get it out if the pitch is mid to high.

With Dunn and Grif, the pitch has to be in the middle to low half of the plate, and I try to park it in the left field seats. Whenever I try to yank it to right, I fly out. Same pitches but center or left field, Sayonara. Dunn's leading the league w/ 20 bombs in my second season in the middle of June.

I also cranked up the sliders slightly for both myself and the cpu, to get rid of the 1-0, 2-1 bore fests. up 20 in contact and up 15 each in power as well as -10 for OF speed for both. Makes it possible to have the 8-5 games.

If you have the PC version, Patch#2 is supposed to fix the lefty HR bug

I play on All Star. I get great realistic results. The sim engine is really good, but - I play 99% my games. First thing I did when starting my dynasty was got rid of Haynes.

My Rotation:
01. Cory Lidle
02. Aaron Harang
03. Jose Acevedo
04. Paul Wilson
05. Brandon Claussen

Bullpen:
Jung Bong
Todd Jones
Mike Matthews
John Reidling
Ryan Wagner
Danny Graves

Larson is on the 15 Day DL (Heh), and D'Angelo is on the 60 day DL, so I signed Tyler Houston and brought up Ray Olmedo. Freel and Olmedo is splitting time at 2nd, while Houston is getting most of the time at 3rd. My bench is Valetin, Vander Wal, Pena, Miller, and Olmedo.

BTW, I just had my best game ever on MVP. Lidle pitched one very good game for me, and was even in the 45% mark in the 7th, but finished the inning easily. It was a 1-1 tie when he came out. Todd Jones came in had a 1-2-3 8th, but got into trouble, and left with men on 2nd and 3rd in the 9th. Wagner got out of the inning, but San Fran scored 1 run on a sac fly. They had a 2-1 lead. Bottom of the 9th, Nen comes in to close the books. Gets Kearns and Griffey, but leaves a mistake ball over the plate and Adam Dunn DRILLED it to tie the game! Nen settles down and gets Casey to ground out. After that, ups and downs, all the way to the 16th inning. I still had 1 more bullpen pitcher in John Reidling, and I was planning on using him in the 17th - but didn't need to. The Giants had ran out of pen pitchers, as you can see from the box score below. They used Tomko, Williams, Rueter, and Foppert - all very shortly, but nonetheless - they used them. Foppert came in, and understandablely so - he was the last one used. He had about 56% left in him, and it proved to be costly. He didn't record one out. Ryan Freel lead off the 16th with a TRIPLE in the gap. Griffey came up, and got on with an infield single (I ran on contact, they threw home, and I somehow got back to 3rd base - Griffey reached 1st). Then, Austin Kearns came up - drilled the 1st pitch he saw to center field for the game winning RBI single. Awesome game. My bullpen, especially Matthews, did a great job. I contained Bonds, and that was really the #1 factor. He grounded into 2 double plays. Box Score below...

I'm currently in Mid-May (finishing up the series with SanFran. I'm struggling overall, but it's pretty realistic - All-Star is hard).

my buddies play as the team i am playing against and our numbers are still realistic, except for triples, i have alot of those top3 players in the league for triples.
my highest avg. is .384 kearns

There is a bug in the game, where Lefties put too much spin on the ball, so HR's are Very tough with them. I downloaded a PS2 Roster that helps that. I got it at Operation Sports. PS2 Roster by GomerPyle... There are some good sliders for it over there. If you create Lidle with the listing from GameFAQ, the stamina is too low... Bump it up a bit.

Yeah, I'm using Pareds sliders on AllStar. Produces very good results.

Pareds on All-Star, and Chi-Town Kids if I want to go Pro... Both very good tough games.

I had great success using the same rotation, without Lidle, who went down for 500+ days w/ a torn MCL.

Last season, I alternated Prokepec and Hall, who were both lights out at AAA, and won the Series in 6 over the Red Sox.

Acevedo had a hot end to the season, and I rode him the playoffs, where he went 6-0 with a 0.93 ERA. With his relief win in game 6 to clinch the series, he was the MVP. And his offspeed stuff all jumped +7 after spring training in season 2.

We'll see how he stacks up against Lidle when he comes back in Sept.

Wow, that's awesome. Acevedo is doing ok for me after 1 month. ERA is up around the 4.70's. Harang was struggling pretty badly before his complete game, 1 run - 4 inning game against the Giants (was the game after that 16 inning nutjob. Bullpen needed that rest!). Lidle, Wilson and Claussen are doing pretty darn well. :)
