Good call on the title creek :p:

And yes, this is the mythical "sticky" that many have been waiting for :GAC:

OK folks, this is your chance to meet up with "the clique"! The upcoming weekend (May 21-23) is when we are making our annual trip to baseball mecca and we have having a rather large gathering of fellow 'Zoners.

THe "BIG" gathering will be Friday, May 21st, at the 5th and Vine Bar (bottom floor of the Westin Hotel, where the Reds Dugout Shop is, also right across from the downtown square). First pitch is 7:10 pm, so I'm going to guess that, so Chip doesn't complain about what time he gets off work :mhcky21: we'll probably start gathering there around 5pm. Drink and be merry!

The seats tend to hover around GAC's brothers' wknd seats, which are section 414 Row "C" or "D". You don't have to sit near us, if you don't wanna, but just wanted to throw it out for y'all;)

The known folks coming: myself, Mrs. SC, GAC, Chip, creek, KittyD, Zombie, KronoRed, the Teamsters, and RosieRed. And possible RBA, CQ, Buckeye (on the 22nd) and a few others (sorry). This is turning out to be a helluva gathering

We also are going to be heading to the Applebee's in Covington after the game (ON SATURDAY!!!) to celebrate the Reds Win and for the post game show. If last year was any indication, about 10 of us can fit in creek's truck and she can park in under the stadium  So park D/T and we'll cram into the bed of the truck to make it to the game!!!

As far as the rest of the weekend goes, Mrs. SC and I will be sitting in close to the Reds dugout for the other 2 games and I will be the first in the gate for BP. We'd love to meet y'all.

Hope to see a bunch of you there. :GAC:

Oh, and the first round is on GAC :GAC: :GAC: :GAC:

(Kitty, I got yours ;) )

TC, TM, and I will be at 5th and Vine. TD is getting our tickets from "teenage" friends so I'm assuming she'll be there too.

See y'all then.

Hey Eddie, the Applebee's thing is after the Saturday game. That's when my best bud Tracy is there with his post game Extra Innings show.

And yes, we can bring the mr creekmobile and you all can pile in the bed.

We're planning on Fri and Sat. Then TD and I are going on the following Monday and I'm going to the business day special on Thursday. This is going to be a great few days of baseball.

My seats are in section 414, Row D, seats 7 thru 10.

SC- I talked to my brother just the other day, and he said he was putting the Sunday seats back for me (you and the Mrs).

My buddy and I (same guy creek, Chip and Sandy met 2 yrs ago) are coming on the 22nd (Sat). We are staying at the Sheraton. Any pre-game plans for this one? Our plans are likely to get into town early-afternoon on Saturday, check-in hit 5th & Vine, In-Between (if weather decent), et al along with getting the requisite (for us) Skyline fix. We splurged on some club seats just 'cause the ones we originally thought we wanted were not available. So we thought, what the heck - let's try these.

If anyone wants to hook up at one of these locations or another let me know.

We will proably do the Applebees thing post-game as well, again weather permitting or creek-taxi availability ;) (I remain thankful for that generous offer of transportation 2 yrs ago!). The only caveat I throw in here is that my friend's sister was just diagnosed with some rather advanced cancer, so I am not certain how he'll be doing. He is a very stable guy and we have both dealt with the deaths of our parents at young ages to cancer, so we both are "somewhat" experienced in dealing with these things, but I do not know if he may say something like "let's just go home" or maybe he'll just want to "escape"so to speak. I am 98% sure he'll be up for all the stuff we would normally do, but you never know and I will just do whatever he's up for.

Bucksfan, we might try to meet up at Rock Bottom's on Saturday...we'll work something out. creek, Mr. creek, Mrs. SC, and myself might get getting the $62 scout seats for the game...stay tuned.

Does anyone still need a ticket for Friday's game? I might have an extra. (I'll know for sure in a day or two.)

Will post later in the week about plans for sure, but in the interest of spotting us - he's 6'5"/250 & I'll probably have on my newest Hud Hens cap (blue & red with a fierce looking Muddy on it) and my 15 yr old gray Reds jersey with red pinstripes.

That was the game that they started late because it *might* rain...which it never did...and then they started the game and it rained...and continued to rain...up to the 9th freaking inning.

Those first row seats in the outfield made you feel like you were on the field. The players could hear us yelling. :) IIRC some of you were passed out or near passed out. :GAC: :p:

I call people their computer names, simply because that's how I know them. It's weird to me to call them anything else. (Plus hard for me to remember real names from gathering to gathering.)

BTW, found a great place for us to gather for an out of town game. Just went there for dinner tonight. It's the Silver Spring House on Kemper. Easy to find from the highway. Further north from Willies. Great outdoor area. I didn't realize they added a huge covered outdoor area, with lots of fans. We should try it on an off weekend.

Silver Spring also has these awesome looking Bloody Marys. My friend got one. I would have but I never indulge during the week. One of TC's rules for living. :) It's not a crappy one that they schlep in a plastic cup. Comes with celery and shrimp in a rimmed daiquiri glass with a side of beer in a small snifter. Just looked really inviting.

Didn't get a look at the large screen TV area. They have the smaller screens that hang from the ceiling all around.

2 for SC, 4 Teamsters, 1 RBA, 1 Redsland.

Please let me know if their are any add ons or deletions by 5:15 PM Eastern time today (Wednesday).

Thanks!!!

PS...I will be at The Westin (5th & Vine) from about 5:10 until Creek leaves. If you are not going to get there until 6:00 I'll be leaving your ticket with someone that is still at 5th & Vine. Please be sure to get there by 6:00. I don't believe anyone will be staying there much past that.

We can settle up funds exchanges later at the game. I won't be sitting with you guys but I'm sure I'll run into a few of you. Krono is coming down to section 129 to sit in my seat for a few minutes. :MandJ: :p:

SC.... IT IS CONFIRMED! I have the 4 tix for you on Sunday!

I may very well be coming down Friday by myself, and meet up with my brothers later on. My one brother is a trucker and is currently in Florida. He says he will be back Friday morning; but barring unforeseen circumstances, he may not make it back until that afternoon. Which would mean we wouldn't get down to Cincy till around 6 or so (if that happens).

I told my brothers that if that is the case then I would meet them down there, because I wanted to get down early to meet alot of the 'zoners whom I haven't had the opportunity to meet before. They understood.

So....I'll be swinging by my bro's house to get the tix (if this happens), and then it's off to Cincy.

I'm just hoping my brother can get in early enough though so we can go down together.

When I get into Cincy SC I'll give you a call on your CP. Where are you staying?

They aren't necessarily planned way in advance. This one's a bit unusual cause SC and RBA are coming into town. But GAC gets these tickets from his brother on some Fridays and that is usually when we plan these get-togethers. As creek said these shindigs are open to everyone on the board so no one can say that they weren't invited to come to them.

Would like to make it, but I'm taking my 16 yr. old son and 2 buddies to the ball game. Hauling them into a bar probably wouldn't set well with their parents (including my wife). We'll be in sect. 128. Look for the 3 teenagers doing their best to ignore the old guy sitting with them.

Wish we had longer to spend together though... we should have started at noon; but then, probably no one would have made it to the game! And it would have been a shame to miss that one.

Would love to see the Reds hand The Rocket his first loss tonight... I'll be cheering wildly. Wouldn't it be great if every single Red kicked up his offense big time tonight? Everyone clicking on all cylinders at the same time would be a thing of beauty!

Super Barry, we won't tell your mom what you did. But you made the right decision.

I think we need to call Mrs. SC .... GBT Reds Fan (GBT = God Bless Texas) :)
She really needs to learn how to come out of her shell a little bit. Shy lil thing. ;) With my G/F and GBT Red Fan sitting together, lordy ... the things you learn about women watching baseball!!! Guys you won't believe this. Women want to see a left handed pitcher when they sit on the 3rd base side and want to see a right hand pitcher when they sit on the 1st base side. Is it so they can see how the ball is being delivered, ahh no. Is it to see how the pitcher holds the ball, ahh no. This next part will explain why. These two think they can tell if a pitcher is good or not by the roundness of his rump. "OH, now he is a good pitcher!!!!"

SC should never go into the prophecy buisness.

creek looked so much happier than she has in a long time, you could tell she wasn't in pain and by the way, I might add looking svelte. BTW, thank you for hauling us from 5th & Vine to the ball park!

RBA drank beer? When? lol. Hey, he was enjoying himself and wasn't hurting anyone in the process.

I won't even go into what one of the Teamsters did to me and GAC in the smoking section!!!

Hey GAC, how long did you make RFS stay on the phone on your way home last night? BTW GAC, thank you for the tickets.

And for the future, certain people will have to practice how to hold up a sign, if you ever want to get it on TV. It really does help to have it right side up.

Kitty, she never cesses to amaze me on how she constantly thinks of others.

MWM was fun to watch watching us. I could have sworn he looked at me one time and said "I sure hope he can't reproduce". I'm not sure what he meant by that, but I'm sure it was a compliment. ;)

It was nice to meet the people we haven't met before. I did notice that Krono and a female that will remain nameless seemed to get along very, very nicely.

I gave Chip a lil guff last night, but I know he knew I was just kidding. Ladies, he's been working out, getting that lean mean look.

I was able to make a little bit of money at "The Tweener", standing at the gate entrance asking for ID's and changing a small entrance fee. You'll be proud to know that I did give a 50% discount to kids. :)

The fun continued Saturday night. Mr creek and I met up with SC and bucksfan and bucksfan cute friend at Rockbottom around 4. Mrs SC was off meeting some friends. We sat around and said secret clique things and then all headed south around 5. Bucksfan and his cute friend walked cause they needed to make a stop at the "Tweener". Mr creek, SC and I headed right to the park.

SC was like a kid at Christmas when we walked into the hallway to our seats. For those who haven't been down there yet, the entrance to the scout seats has lots of scout related things in it - like the original notes from the guy who first scouted Larkin. Stuff like that. It's cool.

Then we went out to our seats and caught the last part of Reds BP. When the Sto's took BP, SC headed off to the outfield stands to try to grab a ball, but alas, no luck.

Mrs SC got to the park around 6.

The most disturbing thing about the evening wasn't the fact that JOHN ALLEN was sitting DIRECTLY in front of us. I'm talking the very next row. It after the first time SC sucked up to him, shook his hand, and then tried to rub the Allen slime on me.

I had to redirect my gaze when John Boy gave SC a big pat-on-the-back-hug-combo post game. I'm still feeling a little queasy after seeing that.

SC and I did play a little good cop bad cop just loud enough for John to hear. Guess who the bad cop was. :)

So the seats were great and the game was greater and the eveing was a blast.

Post game we hung around to watch Sean on the FOX interview. That boy was pumped. It was cool.

Then we met up with bucksfan and his cute friend and headed over to Applebee's and the WLW post game show. Ryan Freel was the guest. Totally cool guy. In fact he was still there at 1230 just BSing with the fans. Most of the guys who appear on the show make a hasty retreat as soon as they can. It's fun to sit around and chat with people who love the Reds as much as you do. Why it's almost like being here...

Great evening. Two of the best games I have ever been to.

And about Friday. It was so nice to see so many people at the 5&V. Super Barry is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Rosie is such a fan, she even has red hair. Beautiful red hair. And an great job. Krono was a great guy, and I was happy to meet him. Just got to talk to MWM for a second, but it was nice to put a face with a screen name. And it was great to finally meet RBA (aka Scott Sullivan). Oh and Redsland, yeah, I'm not done with you yet, buddy.

My bad - I thought I saw Mrs. SC at the Brewery...or at least I saw someone that looked like her. Sorry I missed Bucksfan! I finally located the four of you around the 3rd inning with the binoculars after I remembered SC talking about scout seats. Great seats! I only saw SC getting the crowd hyped up during one of Jr's AB - was he that way for the whole game??? :)

The most disturbing thing about the evening wasn't the fact that JOHN ALLEN was sitting DIRECTLY in front of us. HE WAS??? I need to get better binoculars - NOT! As many times that I've seen him running around the ballpark before the games you'd think I would recognize him! If he is going to be in Cleveland for the series I might corner him to ask some ?s.

I waited until the bottom of the 1st to actually get into my seat - I had been at the ballpark since around 6:15 - but my seat was in the sun and people were already baking. Last night was the second time that I sat in front of loud hecklers - as if the players could hear them... :MandJ:

I'm debating about going to the game today... I promised my Dad that I'd cut the grass (he can't because of hernia surgery last week) - AND the grass is wet. So it might be a last minute decision with top 6 seats.

I'm glad SCR FINALLY got to see a Junior HR. Friday he was lamenting how he had seen him hit a single, double, and even a triple, but had not seen him with a HR live. Guess he got his wish today.

I was in chat when eddie did the math on who would be pitching for the 'stros. He was jacked to be able to see Pettite, Clemens, and Miller and most of us agreed it was gonna be a sweep. I let y'all figure if we meant the stros or Reds. ;)

I'm happy for the SC's - couldn't have scripted a better trip!

We just got home. Man, one helluva good weekend eh? And yes, I finally saw my boy jack one out! :GAC:!!!!!

And make it 9-1 when I attend a game. So, how is that collection going?

To my defense, after Saturday's game, I went up to my new buddy, John, and asked him, "So John, you gonna look at getting us some BP help before the deadline???" :mhcky21:

Today, we upgraded our 414 seats to 2nd row at the end of the Reds Dugout. Rock on. I'll write my take on the weekend tomorrow, but man, thanks for a helluva weekend guys, gals, and Reds :GAC:!!!

One of the good things about not drinking beer, when you stick someone else with the tab it's cheap ;) :D

As creek mentioned above, my (appraently cute ;) :MandJ: ) buddy & I got to meet up with her & the mister and SC and his wife. I was so very happy for him when Junior hit one out (I was mowing the yard at the time, keeping informed by my faithful armband radio). I almost dialed him up as creek did give me your # SC  ;)

Anyway, it was great to see the creeks again and meet up with SC and wife. What a nice guy, and I just love how truly excited he was to be there. It's what bein' a fan is all about IMO.

Freel, while always a guy I liked, really and totally won over another fan with the way he conducted himself at Applebee's Saturday night. What a super guy. And yes that does matter to me.

Wish I could have met up with more of you. As I PM'd to Phil, I think we need to schedule some more of these "en masse" redszone invasions of GAB based on this past weekend's results!! :GAC:

It's a good idea in theory but we got 22 people on Friday. And that was with Super Barry, RBA, SC and Mrs. SC in town. Plus GAC usually has those tix from his bro in that one area. Unless we knew for sure that we had at least 25 folks coming then I don't think it would be a good idea. I don't think anyone would want to get stuck with extra tickets. Heck, we didn't even get 25 for my birthday last year. If we can't get 25 for that, how in the world can we get 25 for any event?

You wouldn't have to get all 25 people committed to make it worth your while, just share whatever savings you have among the ones who do commit.
