50 isn't so bad as long as you ignore the physical decrepititude.

A couple years ago, my paycheck was a few bucks short. Looked at my pay stub and saw my life insurance rates had gone up. Called the insurance folks up....

The reason was that I'd crested the actuarial table hump and from here on out, the liklihood of me dying was an ever increasing one. With corresponding life insurance rates hiking.

Swell. That just made my day.

That was the same year when my eye doctor said (and this is a direct quote) "God Roy, your eyes have really gone to crap".

Firefox is based on Mozilla 2.1 (I think) which isnt supported by normal (microsoft style) html.. this becomes a problem, especially when dealing with javascript... It seems to be more compatible with vBulletin than any other Mac browser I've used - and I've tried 'em all. The misdirected reply was a serious curveball, though.

Usually, I use Safari, which is said to be the browser that is most compatible with CSS. Safari's other incompatibilities force me to keep a second and third browser on standby to open incompatible sites.

So RL, looks like the Elks ran into a real meat grinder with Colerain. I don't know what they put in the water over that way, but Colerain has some real studs on both sides of the ball.

I was a little suprised that Moeller beat St. X. I thought St. X had the best shot at Colerain of any of the GCL schools.

But, GCL schools are used to playing big games, so I imagine Moeller will give Colerain a game.

I was glad to see Glen Este go on in Div. 2. They came into Mason the second week of the season and played an excellent game.

I worked the visitors side concession stand that game and all their kids said sir, ma'am, please, and thank you. More that I can say for the Mason kids.

Once you could do DTP and image-editing just as well on Win, the case for staying Mac and paying more became harder to make.

A lot of it boils down to what you're used to. To me, using Windows is like driving a car with right-hand drive. I could do it, and I can do it, but I will never feel comfortable in Windows. It's not hard for me to imagine the reverse.

Yea, I pretty much knew it was going to be a loss, but I was thinking that they'd give them a good game. Not the case. I was watching highlights of the game on the news and I couldn't help but think how much Colerain looked like a college team. They have good size at EVERY position.

Was glad to hear that their RB is going to UM. He looks like a Tyrone Wheatley type of back, that I think UM will use well with Hart.

That Colerain team is going to be tough to beat.

When I was in HS Glen Este was in our division (EHL)they were "The Sticks" the absolute worst soccer team we ever played while I was there. They were in their 1st year and their grasp of the game was insanely small.

As far as apps go, I don't think Adobe gets enough credit for the Mac's early success.

In the early 90's I worked in the Industrial Film business, mostly shooting inside product and sales pieces for big companies in the valley, Apple, Adobe, Octel, Siemens (that's where I got to meet the Dead) You're so on about the Adobe Apple marriage, without each other they would have been good ideas in theory.

I own all of the above, but boy-cut are my favorites. They're the most comfortable by far, and my :allovrjr: looks great in them. ;) After that, it's regular bikini-cut. For special occassions, a g-string ... thongs are too uncomfortable.

One of my favorite songs right now: "Flying High" by Jem. If you haven't heard of Jem, but like Dido and/or Beth Orton, I'd recommend downloading this song. (Well, I'd recommend it regardless, but she reminds me of those two.) Especially if you're female, but there might be some men who'd like it.

You can't know, oh no
You can't know
How much I think about you, no
It's making my head spin
Looking at you
And you are looking at me
And we both know what we want
Hmmm, so close to giving in

Feel so nice
Oh yeah you feel so nice
Wish I could spend the night
But I can't pay the price
Oh no, no

But I'm flying so high
High off the ground
When you're around
And I can feel your high
Rocking me inside
It's too much to hide

I know, oh yes
I know that we can't
Be together
But, I just like to dream
It's so strange
The way our paths have crossed
How we were brought together
Hmmm, it's written in the stars it seems
Feel so nice
Oh yeah you feel so nice
I'd love to spend the night
But I can't pay the price
Oh no, no

And I'm flying so high
High off the ground
When you're around
And I can feel your high
Touching me inside
And it's too much to hide

Back to earth
Where did you take me to
I know there's no such thing
As painless love
Well it'll catch us up
And we can never win
But ohhh
I feel so alive
Ohhh
Just wanna hold you
Hold you so tight

And I'm flying so high
High off the ground
When you're around
And I can feel your high
Touching me inside
And it's too much to hide
And I'm flying so high
High off the ground
When you're around

Hi Chip! Why is work going to suck? Registration time?

I go back to work Saturday.
Yeah, it's registration time but since I got back from my injury I've had to do verifications as well. Letters to employers, insurers, etc saying that students are enrolled in school, etc. Some of these people expect it yesterday. I have phone calls from last week I haven't even got to yet. :dflynn: Today I will only have about an hour and a half more to do these verifications since it's monday and I have to help with registration till 1:00 and from 2:00 to 3:00. From 3:00 to 4:30 I can do verifications but I have to help with registrations from 4:30 to 5:00 and I'll be here pretty much by myself from 5:00 to 7:00. Classes begin Wednesday so we'll be busy till next Wednesday. Calgon, take me away!

Briefs for me, BTW. My boys need a house. :D

Whoa, Jem (Jem), the music's contagious (outrageous)
Jem is my name, no one else is the same Jem is my name!

How random! Yeah, she sounds similar to Dido on her CD. But in concert, she sounded very much like Beth Orton to me. The song that I posted lyrics for, "Flying High," really shows off her voice. It's just her and an acoustic guitar and some other string instruments ... very pretty song. Some places (Target maybe?) are selling her CD for as little as $7.

And Chip, thanks for that Jem the cartoon reference. First time I've heard that one! ;) When I tell people I saw Jem in concert, they always seem to ask if the Misfits were there too.

You guys should apply for The Amazing Race, Rosie. She'd be familiar with most of the land (sounds like) and you'd be the competitive team leader to give your team the drive you need to succeed. I think you guys would be great, and it sounds like you could have fun with an experience like that.

I'd sign up for that show in a heartbeat if I had someone to do it with. My wife said "never", my Dad has a real bad ankle that prevents him from doing most things, and my kids aren't old enough.
