Everyone, I have a confession to make.

Why do I have a feeling that I'm going to be loaning someone bail money?

jmcclain19
12-22-2004, 02:58 AM
Well Sandy, I wish I had some all encompassing, good advice to dispense, but sadly I don't.

I've always been a firm believer in the theory that things happen for a reason. Whether or not we understand those reasons at the time, is another argument all together.

I hope, I sincerely hope that things turn up for you this week. It's the holidays, and things will get better.

Know that everyone is here to listen, dispense advice if needed, help in anyway, or just to give you space to vent your frustrations and air your issues.

woah, in a zone here, better keep this up.

So I didn't shave today, for like the fourth day in a row.

I'm full into Christmas beard mode. And I still have at least two, possibly three solid days of work left. Hope I can make it. If I didn't have a super gro chia pet on my face , it would be nice. If I could wax my face, I'd be game for that. But every year I always end up going bush during my vacation week during the plant shutdown. This year, it's just a little early.

Worst part is, I didn't get carded for beer the other night. First time, well, outside of Vegas, that it's happened. I feel old.

jmcclain19

So I'm liking my King avatar. As I told SB, it's cause I'm the King of Hearts baby.

Avatars are much more amusing here at home, since I can see images on Redszone. My work computer is so dialed up with security features, tighter than a drum, that images on here rarely, if ever, work. During the day, you're all just big red x's to me.

I'm listening to Gwen Steffani on my iPod, and downloading some "Winter" style backdrops for my cpu from webshots.

Want to at least look at snow, which is funny coming from my not so cold house.

Babysitting the better half's cat this week. My dogs, LOVE him. All three of my Boxers treat him just like they do a squeeky toy, except he moves, and pops them when they get a little too friendly. My oldest, Sophie, wants to treat him like a puppy, keeps trying to lift him by the scruff of his neck. Not like she would have the slightest idea what to do with him if she could pick him up.

I wish I could set my DirecTV DVR to eliminate the basketball highlights and all others from sportscenter and just give me the baseball and football stuff.

Ahh, damn technology, it has made me spoiled.

I'll just have to sit and play with the eight second instant replay anyway.

And for those of you who are thinking of getting it, it being TiVo of any kind, for the "pause" live TV aspect, it's highly overrated. Spend all your life watching sports and movies and you mentally train your brain to wait to run to the bathroom/kitchen/etc during commericals. This doesn't stop when you can pause live TV.

However, the 8 second instant replay, can't be used ENOUGH. When you see something funny, you can replay it again, and again, and again, until it's no longer funny. Sometimes that takes a while.

I am so, so excited to be off work for the next three days that I don't know when I'll go to sleep tonight. I'm contemplating staying up all night, and going to bed somewhere around 10 a.m. I think it will depend on the weather, and if I get tired before then. But I'd love to stay up and go get some breakfast in a few hours.

I'm fine with that as well, but I think they need to sign him to a 3 year deal this winter to buy out his arbitration years and his first year of free agency. By that time, they should be close enough to being out from under Griffey's contact, which will leave money to sign Dunn for another 2-3 years when his contract is up.

Its not the fact that Joe Randa sucks - he does, by the way - it is the fact that because of him better offensive players now have to sit on the bench that makes me loathe this trade. Its the same reason I hated having Castro on the Reds - his being on the team took at bats from more productive people.

Randa is better than Castro, but thats not sayin much.

I think Randa was a good signing. The reason I think that is no matter what happened, they'd be in the same situation. Kearns was never going to play 3B. So, no matter what you have 4 players for 3 OF positions. In the situation, you would have Freel as your starter at 3B. Freel vs Randa. Randa is much better defensively and about equal offensively. Only difference is that Freel can lead off, and steal bases where Randa can't. I admit that the Reds need a lead off hitter, but I'd much rather have someone that plays 3B naturally, be playing 3B.

What he said - and this whole Freel will get his 450 at bats, ummmmm, no, no he won't. Freel just went from super sub/starter to 2B and 3b backup. The Reds have 4 outfielders, if one of them sits the WMP plays. If Casey sits, one of the outfielders or the immortal AJ Zapp plays. Freel sits.

But on the days where Randa needs a break, yippeeee Freel plays. Or Freel subs for Jimenez.

And don't even get me started about how sitting WMP and playing him once every two weeks will ruin him.

My project X took a left turn last night at 2 AM. The p-t-b decided it was one of our top 3 projects for 2005. Some of the preliminary ideas out of it caused a major deal to break our way (and the idea literally came out of a 4 hr. beer session at a Palo Alto bar some weeks back).

So they said, wrap it up COB Thursday, put a bow on it, ship it out, enjoy the holidays, and expect all hell to break loose Jan 4. Which is all fine with me. I like to work and I enjoy my job (in a work kind of way). I just want to spend some time with my family and have some time off when everyone else seems to.

As you listen to the sounds of Katamari Damacy, you'll find it hard not to be reminded of Samba de Amigo and Space Channel 5 (if you've played them), two games that were built on the foundation of a single, high-energy, retro-sounding song. Katamari Damacy also has a singular, extremely catchy theme, which comes up in the game in a variety of different forms. Sometimes you'll just hear a single voice humming it, other times it will manifest in a full-bodied dance-pop song, and it is key in establishing the fun, enthusiastic vibe of the game. There's plenty of other music in the game too, and though it plays the field from synthesized J-pop songs to jazzy swing

1) thats why I said to ask ALL THE MEN in your family. They know. (Mainly because they would be the kind to make fun of someones name)
2) I disagree with your MIL
3) Show her the names that SB wants to use, and tell your MIL that those were the other options you had. She'll be thrilled with your choice. :)

Fat and docile, big and dumb
They look so stupid, they aren't much fun
Cows aren't fun

They eat to grow, grow to die
Die to be et at the hamburger fry
Cows well done

Nobody thunk it, nobody knew
No one imagined the great cow guru
Cows are one

He hid in the forest, read books with great zeal
He loved Che Guevera, a revolutionary veal
Cow Tse Tongue

He spoke about justice, but nobody stirred
He felt like an outcast, alone in the herd
Cow doldrums

He mooed we must fight, escape or we'll die
Cows gathered around, cause the steaks were so high
Bad cow pun

But then he was captured, stuffed into a crate
Loaded onto a truck, where he rode to his fate
Cows are bummed

He was a scrawny calf, who looked rather woozy
No one suspected he was packing an Uzi
Cows with guns

They came with a needle to stick in his thigh
He kicked for the groin, he pissed in their eye
Cow well hung

Knocked over a tractor and ran for the door
Six gallons of gas flowed out on the floor
Run cows run!

He picked up a bullhorn and jumped up on the hay
We are free roving bovines, we run free today

We will fight for bovine freedom
And hold our large heads high
We will run free with the Buffalo, or die
Cows with guns

They crashed the gate in a great stampede
Tipped over a milk truck, torched all the feed
Cows have fun

Sixty police cars were piled in a heap
Covered in cow pies, covered up deep
Much cow dung

Black smoke rising, darkening the day
Twelve burning McDonalds, have it your way

We will fight for bovine freedom
And hold our large heads high
We will run free with the Buffalo, or die
Cows with guns

The President said "enough is enough

These uppity cattle, its time to get tough"
Cow dung flung

The newspapers gloated, folks sighed with relief
Tomorrow at noon, they would all be ground beef
Cows on buns

The cows were surrounded, they waited and prayed
They mooed their last moos,
they chewed their last hay
Cows out gunned

The order was given to turn cows to whoppers
Enforced by the might of ten thousand coppers
But on the horizon surrounding the shoppers

Came the deafening roar of chickens in choppers

We will fight for bovine freedom
And hold our large heads high
We will run free with the Buffalo, or die
Cows with guns

I like names that have been around for a while.

Beware of trendy names. Names need to last a lifetime. What sounds cool now may seem awfully stupid in 20 years.

These alternative spellings or part of this name and part of that name to make a new name sounds like someone was on drugs when they made the name up.

My litmus test is what they sound like when announced at a commencement.

Roy is done...
