Sorry that I failed to follow suit by playing Cleese to your Palin, RFS. This is like a batting practice session for me, as Krono mentioned. However, unlike Krono I haven't been away from the game so long that I've forgotten which side of the plate I take my cuts from. ;)

You just worry about taking your intentional passes in front of me from the #4 spot, and practice trotting home in style (and please, no 70's style shorts). ;)

Is Puffy channelling Miley by batting you #2, and instructing you to give yourself up, hit to the right side and lay down bunts? If you tell me you are also playing SS, I'll know the answer! ;)

Which brings up this:

Who is the home team??

CbusRed
01-14-2005, 11:48 PM
Cbus, how can Team Puffy win with you batting leadoff? 'Nuff said.

Well, lets see, given the power of our lineup, and the absense of a mercy-rule. I expect to have at least 13 at-bats. Players like me arent judged by batting average, they are judged by home run average, in which I am batting around .400.

So, 40% of 13 is 5.2

So providing that every time I am up, there are no RISP, I will account for 5.2 runs just by swinging my bat.

Now granted there is a huge margin of error involved, as I am sure to see at-bats with runners on and such. And I am likley to hit more than 5 homers. and in the at-bats that I do not hit homers in, I will definitley be hitting extra-base hits.

So this puts the projected number of runs that I have responsibility in at approximatley 32.

add that to the at-bats of my teammates when I am not even on the basepaths, and we should be scoring close to 80 runs.

With our infield full of gold-glove caliber players, (we probably wont even need to field an outfield), I am estimating that Team RL will score no more than 2 runs.

Final projected score..... Team Puffy wins by a score of 83-2

Can't commit to anything, but if GoGoSox and I can make the gathering, would you folks be interested in some chicken and andouille sausage jambalaya?

We'd have to ask for help with the cost, but might make a good post-game picnic.

Of course, we'd also have to make sure we can cook at the site.

Can't make any promises, but just seeing if the interest is there.
Sounds good to me. I haven't had good jambayala in, oh, about 20 years.

The female person in Roy's life previous to the current Mrs.T was a Louisiana native (from Alexandria and USL). With a last name of Soileau, she was a true ragin Cajun. She cooked up good jambayala, gumbo, crawdads, etc. She did a good job with deer, rabbit, and even squirrel. No possum though. Spent some time in Alexandria and felt like a stranger in a strange land. Good folk though.

Took the spousal unit out for a rare Friday night date (yes, I still date my wife). Went to see "Spanglish" at the Rave. A good movie. With a stronger actor that Adam Sandler, it could have been excellent. James L Brooks does good stuff.

This is our way of motivating you. Hopefully you'll take Larkin Fan out with those spikes flying high early in the game. If that doesn't do it, maybe Zombie will accidentally wing him while advancing from first to Left Field later in the inning. As for popping out to yourself, it's more a matter of Puffy's smallball infatuation (have fun with that one) with the bunt, rather than a referendum on your skillz. Plus, it could be worse... Dante Bichette once double himself off first base while with the Reds.

Ouch. It's been about six years since I've been spiked at second. I'd like to keep it that way. :MandJ:

I can confirm that it pays to stay on these banks with fees. They were going to start charging me "teller fees" if I went in the bank to do any banking. I called them when I got the notice. I gave them an earful about elderly people like my Mom and Dad who only do banking that way. I told them it was disgusting, and that I was going to close my account.

Suddenly, I'm a preferred customer of gold or something ..... anyway ..... the fee doesn't apply to my account.
"Preferred Customer Gold" must mean the same thing in banking circles that "Ma'am" means in retail and foodservice. ;)

Spent yesterday in St. Louis. Nice town. Went to dinner at Chuck Berry's restaurant called Blueberry Hill.

BTW, isn't the new stadium supposed to open next year? It looks like it's barely started. I remember the year before the GAB opened, you could see the stands and a lot more than what I see there. And it's going directly next to Busch just like the GAB.

Ben was definitely hurt today. Did you see the video clip they showed on ESPN before the game where he was trying to throw with the glove on? There was something wrong with his thumb they were hoping the glove would fix. He played the first half without it, but put it on for the second half. It was obvious his throws were missing something. I don't see how anyone could throw a football with a glove on their hand.

I was going to buy that $400,000.00 one since it was on sale; but I didn't feel like waiting in line to go through it, I didn't want to put those paper shoe covers on my feet to go through it, and I left my cash in another pair of pants.

I did sign up for every free trip they offered. I expect my phone to ring off it's hook the next couple of months. Not that I will win, but they'll want to sell me something.

Although they did have a couple of good deals on fishing trips. Lodging, boats, bait, and meals included. I'm interested in one in Canada, one in Tennessee and one of the Walleye trips on Lake Erie.

I asked my fiancee if she was interested in making the trip to Tennessee a two-4-one deal. She asked me what I meant. I said we could go down there and get a fishing license and marriage license and make this a Honeymoon/Fishing trip. I think she needs to think about it. I told her she should look at the brochure. I then pondered, out loud no less, if they had the same kind of deals on marriage license as they did fishing license. Three-day, 7-day, etc.

Strange thing, I've noticed women don't seem to have the same sense of humor as guys do one certain subject matters.

Umm..need your laundry done CQ? :D
No I said I left my cash in another pair of pants. The cash amount in the pants wouldn't pay for the paper shoe covers they were giving away.

My hangover and overall feelings today are complicated by the fact that I did something really stupid last night. :thumbdown

Last night a bunch of friends came up to Cleveland to visit, including the guy I was kind of dating last summer (and really, really liked) who started ignoring me out of nowhere in the fall (obviously really hurting my feelings). It was the first time I'd seen him or talked to him since his unexplained "vanishing" act. Anyway, we went out drinking, and so predictably, I kissed him. :dflynn: :dflynn: :dflynn: Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!

He said he really missed me, blah blah blah, and my inebriated rear end believed him. So yeah. I still really like him and I kissed him. STUUUUUPID!!!

He did call me today, but I was at a movie and had my cell off. My friend told me not to call him back... What do you guys think??

How would you feel if you called him and he didn't call you back after last night?

You could ask him about all that maybe, CQ is right, it is just a kiss, you didn't say you'd marry him :)

I believe you are overanalyzing the situation. Like Coug said, it was just a kiss. You obviously still like each other and neither of you are married or engaged so what's the big deal? If he's getting help for this problem, that's great and it would lessen the chance of him freaking on you again. However, if he does, you now know why he is doing that and it doesn't have anything to do with you. If you don't think you can deal with his problem, tell him to have a nice life. If you can, take it from there.

So how far was your tongue down his throat?

Same here. Sun, sand, sea and Spring Training sound awfully nice when it's 25 degrees and sleeting outside. :) I like this picture better though it's from the hotel club, rather than the main hotel.

Yikes! Hopefully, it's just an arbitrary query. Act natural, tell him you're enamored of your work, and whatever you do - don't let him/her ever see your contributions to this Thread. Seriously, hope it all goes well... and you may want to check your office for wiretaps, monitoring devices, and hidden cams (oh, and if you do find a cam, send me the video feed immediately). ;) too bad there aren't any "helpful types" around tonight, to give you some better advice.

If your boss is beating around the bush at something, which it sounds like he/she is, it is very un-professional, regardless if the nature of the email is good or bad.

Thanks Stormy. I'll get right on that video feed. ;)

I think it is an arbitrary query. When I switched to this dept., one of my big complaints about my last dept. was that I was always bored. I wrote back what I hope is an acceptable answer.

And now everyone is leaving, and I don't know if I'm supposed to sit and wait for a response, or if I can leave too?

Actually Rosie, that's exactly what I thought when you typed the message. It didn't occur to me that it could be a bad thing and I figured someone was just exercising some leadership by making sure their people are happy and being challeneged. It actually took me by surprise to see that it might be a bad thing.

It just freaked me out because I was complaining tonight about being bored, prior to getting that email. Then I worried that maybe there was a perception I wasn't doing my share of work, but instead of saying "Do more work!" she came at me with the "are you bored" approach.

I should have known it wasn't anything bad. All my bosses are actually really great.

Evening all,

So i just returned from my trip. The little lady had a work emergency that requires her to be in tomorrow at 8AM, so we high tailed it home so she could get some sleep. She got the call about four hours ago, so we quickly packed, threw the gear in the car and ran home. For whatever reason I bought a four pack of Red Bull, to keep me awake, and drank it all in the process of going home.

I covered 240 miles in a little over three hours, only stopping once for a quickie restroom break, so yeah, looking back that was a little on the fast side.

Fun though, went snowboarding today, and apparently the majority of the Phoenix metropolitian area had the same idea. I spent easily most of the day waiting in lines and hanging out on the lift, then would fly down the run in no time at all. But it was an incredibly sunny day out, still had great snow. I didn't wear sunscreen so now I'm red like a lobster below my goggle line.

Good to see that RT had a day night last night. Always a good thing, keep things fresh and original. I think I'm disturbed by RBA looking up Redszone porn. The idea of posting a photoshopped image comes to mind, but I would like to not get banned tonight, no matter how hyped up on caffine I am.

I don't drink caffine at all, ever. I don't drink coffee and only have a rare soda, so yeah, I'm bouncing off the walls like a hyper pre-teen.

What a night
A "shooting" right outside my work..... which was actually a table that fell from the top flooor to the bottom floor, and someone screaming gun, which caused a stampeed.
Then an arguementative table.....
Thank god for Craig for calming me down!
Appreciate it!

So I have a wide angle lens option with my digital camera I hadn't used before. Stopped this weekend and decided to try to use it.

Took the time to take two photos

http://www.offcenter.us/images/openroad.jpg

http://www.offcenter.us/images/wide.jpg

well, I didn't take the 2nd one, as I'm in it (I'm on the right) but those two turned out pretty good. Some of the others, didn't, with that wide lens.

Still will take practice.

And one of my fellow snowboarders needs to learn how to block out the sun, here's one of many, this one is me sitting on the side of the mountain. He had the camera for several runs of me and our other cohorts, and almost all have the sun glare in them. *Sigh* Oh well, maybe next trip.

maybe, in light of the fact that I'm the only one on the thread, I'll stretch out my legs and zone a little here.

Do people know that Florescent clothes went away in the 80's?

Not that I'm a fashion guru or anything, but floresecent orange is not manly. Ever.

I could count on all my toes and fingers and still not get high enough to see the amount of people I saw decked out in bright, and oh do I ever mean bright clothes on the slopes. Please tell me this isn't making a return and I missed the boat. Cause that is one ship I never want to set sail on again.

I'm making the official change back to the baseball avatar.

Looking back on last night's and todays pages.

You guys realize that the game, the softball game is about five months away.

That's 150+ days. Over 3600 hrs.

And your still talking smack?!?!

Might want to ease up on that a bit. Or otherwise it'll get old. There is a long, long way to go yet before the RedsZone outing.

As Puffy states. "Just sayin"
