I threw together a little Sam Adams and Becks last night. Used ice cream as a thickening agent.

All mixing took place in my tummy, you know, for proper agitation of the ingredients.

One of the problems of moving is finding someone who can cut your hair. A high school friend of mine had been cutting my hair for 5 years before moving here. She was very good and I always knew I was going ot get a great haircut.

I've gotten my hair cut twice now in Ann Arbor. The first time was OK, but she acted like she had no interest in cutting my hair. It was very average and she acted like I was burdening her when I asked for it to be a little shorter. I didn't feel like asking her again, so two weeks later I was ready for another one.

I tired somewhere else today and I got absolutely HACKED!!!! I look like a fool and it's right in the middle of recruiting season.

I go out walking after midnight
Out in the moonlight just like we used to do
I'm always walking after midnight searching for you
I walk for miles along the highway
Well that's just my way of saying I love you
I'm always walking after midnight searching for you
I stopped to see a weeping willow
Crying on his pillow maybe he's crying for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night blooms will whisper to me I'm lonesome as I can be
I go out walking after midnight out in the moonlight
Just hoping maybe you're somewhere walking after midnight searching for me
I stopped to see a weeping willow
Crying on his pillow maybe he's crying for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night blooms will whisper to me I'm lonesome as I can be
I'm out walking after midnight out in the moonlight

Very similar to Parker Brother's "Risk and Roll."

I'm not a fan of country, but I love the old stuff sometimes. Reminds me of hanging out in my Dad's gin joints as a kid. He'd hand me a bunch of quarters and I'd have free rein of the jukebox and pool table, while he sat at the bar. All the potato chips and soda I wanted.

The days of old. He'd call me his co-pilot. I'd dig beers out of the cooler from the back seat. He'd drive we a bottle of Black Label between his knees. He'd probably get arrested in this day and age, but back then we had some adventures.

If my mom only knew. :MandJ:

Rosie, what do you hear about this alleged Larkin press conference?

Sorry, I've been stuck in a meeting. I don't know a whole lot, but he either did talk to or is going to talk to some reporters tonight. I don't think it's an actual press conference. All I've heard is that he is going to "come out even stronger" about what he wants to do next year, so it sounds like more of the same to me.

TeamCasey
10-01-2004, 05:27 PM

Well, the Larkin story sounds pretty bad. I don't want to post about it on the baseball side, because I don't want to hear the negative reactions just yet. But basically, it sounds like he and his family are really unhappy with what's going down (or not going down) in the FO concerning him coming back next year. This whole situation just makes me sad. :(

Just came in. Will read Barry's story in a moment.

TeamGriffey's teary eyed tragedy. He left a dune buggy in the store. Been doing my best to preoccupy him with wiffle ball and "Yellow Ball." As soon as he has a quiet moment, he'll obsess again.

Our little deep thinker. He keeps reminding me about the time I yelled at him to get back in bed ...... about 6 months ago. He's tormented by, "It's night time, get back in bed and go to sleep this minute!"

He's arguing with TB about Dunn right now. She says he got a homerun. He says he got a double. It's bitter. They settled on Dunn getting a double double.

(Way to go, Adam!)

With the Larking thing, there is a LOT more behind this story than just what is in the media. I know it sounds like he's whining non-stop, blah blah blah ... but it is NOT a pretty situation for him, and from what I've heard, he has reason to complain. Only thing is, I don't think he can really complain about what he wants to complain about, so it all ends up sounding the same. If that makes any sense. :)

I cannot freakin believe this... Here I am, all happy and pleased to be home, and I just now walked into my room to get my clothes ready and laid out for tomorrow, and I smell something weird and stinky... LARKIN PUKED ALL OVER MY BED!!!!!!! Bad kitty!! That's NOT how you welcome your mommy back from a tough week at college!!! :thumbdown

That better not be an omen of things to come.... :(

Wouldn't it be fun to see the Cubbies choke on the next two games also, regardless of what the Stros do?

Gotta get up around 8 am, so I can be sure to get down there nice and early tomorrow!! :) Sweet dreams, everyone!!!

That'll work... We're not really sure what we're doing yet about tomorrow night. There's been a tentative invite, but we don't know if we're going to accept or not. I could be back late tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow night though... That's my best guess of what will occur. I don't know how gung ho my friend is about staying in Cincy tomorrow night.

Well guys, I'm getting ready to leave. I realized at this point that I'm just going to have to do the best I can and not worry about it. Hopefully this is as painless as possible.

PS Many thanks to all those who sent well wishes, I had an aunt wake up at 7 AM today just to call me and wish me good luck. It's really so nice to have people in your corner.
