Here's a fun quiz to test your knowledge and memory of 80s music lyrics. Some of these will drive you crazy when you can't think of the words, even though you've heard them hundreds of times. Be sure to post your score back here for all to see.

http://www.yetanotherdot.com/asp/80s.html

Hint: At the end of the quiz, you'll be asked to state which event you were born before. They penalize you quite a bit if you were born before Woodstock, so you might want to fib and pick the next-latest event if you were close. I was born in '65, so I fibbed.

My score was 77.5.

28.7. I guess I'm just a 70's Show kid who resented 80's music.

Eat this...141.5.

No cheating, very few guesses. On my own, like Tarzan's Boy.

117.5 - and I missed a couple because I added an "s" (every rose has its thorns and my memories have just been sold).

Stupid grammar.

Yeah, a couple of verb forms (hear/hears/heard) got me, plus a couple of transposed words. Like those matter. It's not like Whitesnake's lyricist was Yeats or anything.

You were probably working in a bank in the 80's. 15% handicap on the Gen Xers.
5 point bonus for telling me where you saw this. Thanks!

Final Score: 97.575

I echo redread statement - felt like kicking myself because I would get one part right - other wrong - so NO points... :dflynn:

Or you'd see the answer, and it would be so obvious..
I hope you got the "Rio" question right :MandJ:

I live on 80's music.

Although kinda found it funny that the biggest scoring question was regarding an Eagles song from the 70's.

Like many of you, should have been higher as I had a couple words that I pluralized that were marked wrong.

23. Bow down before the one you love , you're going to get what you deserve
Go buy some black leather... then bow down before the one you serve, you're going to get what you deserve.

I hope you got the "Rio" question right But of course... too bad there weren't more of Duran's lyrics - since most were pretty strange! :gac:

I quit halfway through and hit calculate to see what the answers were.

I posted a -3. :D

(You'll think I'm lying, but I wasn't allowed to listen to the radio growing up. Devil's music and all that. :) )
