I'm sure you've heard the news that the Pope has come down with the flu (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0502020278feb02,1,5726852.story?coll=chi-newsnationworld-hed).

Couldn't help but wonder, is it maybe because God's been busy checking out MRI's of Terrell Owens ankle (http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/5217630.html)?

"I respect Dr. Myerson and his decision to not medically clear me," Owens said. "But prior to going down to see him for that last visit, I can honestly say God had already cleared me. It really doesn't matter what a doctor says. I've got the best doctor of all, and that's God."

*and yes I apologize up front for anyone I offend, it's meant as a tongue and cheek attempt at humor

Yeah I heard that on Dan Patricks show and thought it was dumbest God quote by an athlete since Schilling following game 6 of the ALCS

Ah, yes. We (Mr. Owens) claim kinship with God on one hand, yet live our life in such a manner that would seem to conflict with the will and desire of the Creator. This has become all to familiar.

Amen (no pun intended!)...
