Speaking of Patterson, it seems to me the Reds could do away with one of their "Reds-killers" by not throwing him belt-high fastballs. They ALWAYS throw that bum first-pitch fastballs. And he's ripping, every time.

Red Leader
04-27-2005, 01:29 PM
Ok, so according to my theory that Dempter is going to walk some people today, Kearns, Lopez and LaRue should all see a decent amount of at-bats with runners on. Let's hope they are able to take advantage of the situation. I'm also hoping Randa can add a hit or two in this game. That would be significant as well, considering HE'S STILL IN THE CLEANUP SPOT!

Power in the 4th slot is not that novel a concept.

Except in the eyes of the current Reds manager.

I agree, in theory, with the idea of splitting the lefties up, especially when you've got LOOGYs like Ray King lurking in St. Louis.

I think the ideal batting order has to look something like this:

1. Freel/Jimenez-R/S
2. Griffey-L
3. Pena/Kearns-R
4. Dunn-L
5. Randa-R
6. Casey-L
7. Aurillia-R
8. LaRue-R
9. Pitcher

Problem is, Kearns really has to start hitting before you can justify moving him up in the batting order.
