A 75% Rolan is better than a Luna eh?

Hopefully the "goofy" reds mound throws Muldar's stride aside so the Reds can give the ball a ride.

Or Wily Mo is really hurt and the Reds refuse to put him on the 15day dl, leaving Miley with a short bench.

Dunn should be hitting 3rd.

Dunn gets on base too much and hits for too much power to be in the top half of the lineup. It wouldn't be fair to other teams.

Mulder broke his knee and fell toward home (far further than he's allowed to by rule) and threw the ball to First to get Lopez in a pickle. Seriously, if you taped a video on what rookie pitchers cannot get away with but what solid vet LHP can, that move would go on the tape.

The best team in the Reds organization, Louisville, won today. Encarnacion got two hits. He has 8 errors, but his bat is definitely coming on. Good outing for Jeriome Robertson. Chatanooga lost, but Dumatrait did ok. He seems well on the road to recovery. Sarasota is in a tight one. Josh Hall got hit around a bit, but it's good to see him piling up some innings after his latest injury. Gonzalez walked 8 for Dayton, which is probably to be expected from such a young pitcher.

There is one other game in the organization, but I'm blocking it out.

In the old days, the manager would be fired. Nobody would analyze it very much. His contract wouldn't matter, although he usually wouldn't earn very much. It wouldn't really matter if it was his fault. He would go.

I would fire Dave Miley because I see a different lineup every night, bad use of the bullpen, and a completely demoralized team. Obviously, it's not all his fault, but that's what I would do, along with some personnel changes.

By the way, Sarasota tied the game, 4-4. Votto and Perez each have 2 hits and are both starting to raise their BAs.

It's fairly evident from this game thread that apathy has set in.

From the looks of the game, I'm assuming it has with the players as well.

It is pretty sad that when they show camera shots of the outfield at GAB, it's basically a ghost town in the stands. What will the front office do if this continues? The Reds aren't going to be able to run a team if they can't put fans in the seats. :p:

It's back, and I think the problem was more my computer than mlb. I'm on dial up and had about 3 browser windows open.

Marty brought up Monday night again ... and last night, after the Reds, I switched to the Mariners broadcast for a little while ... and they brought it up there too. Can't get away from it.

Maybe they can get to the bull pen. :D

I do not miss the days of having dial-up access. Glad it's working again. Just wish the game was worth listening to. :(

I disagree. The fans are the ones paying the money. They deserve to see the best. Graves is far from that. Bad performance is one thing, snapping back at the fans (for booing him and the team) in a newspaper is what I would call "classless".

Answer: Team is too good to go with youth. Nice home run for Dunn, who is probably counting the days before he becomes a free agent.

In the world of competitive baseball, Sarasota is in extra innings.

Just my opinion here, but I'll bet that booing tonight wouldn't have happened (or would have been FAR less severe) if Danny Graves would have said this about Monday's game:

"Yep. We got booed and we should have. There was no excuse to blow that kind of lead against any team. We're going to put this behind us and do everything in our power to give no one a reason to boo us."

IMO, it was Graves' whine-fest to the media that drew those boos. Even though I wouldn't have participated in booing the guy, I can absolutely understand why the fans were booing him tonight.

Danny did bad in his previous game and got booed for it. Fans didn't so much like it when he focused on them instead of focusing on fixing the problem.

He cuts off his nose (sits those 2) to spite his face (starts RA and DJ almost nightly) Aurilia was so bad at SS that 3 teams cut him loose the past 2 years, he was even moved off SS last year... but all he does is play SS for the Reds?

And, I am saying that he did deserve to be booed tonight. There is no such thing as "booing in private or when the team is on an off-day". His whining showed up in the papers, and he had to know that he was going to be called to task for it. Good that he responded positively to the booing. Maybe *this* is the kick in the butt the Reds needed. Where have I heard that one before? But, hey, I respect your opinion nonetheless.

Tonight, he did not deserve it... especially not the moment he stepped on the field. The fans need to move on, just as the players do.They will - eventually. He basically was asking for it, TB, when he said that the fans shouldn't have booed. Danny's been in the big leagues for, what, 7-8 years? Joe Valentine had a cup of coffee last season and April of this season and he knows what to say after he screwed up than Danny does. Astounding! If Danny had saced up the other night and said, "I stunk. We deserved to be booed." then he wouldn't have got the reception he did tonight. And this isn't the first time Danny has handled situations such as these in a similar manner. Whether you agree with booing or not is irrelevant. Saying that a fan doesn't have the right to boo is like saying we don't have freedom of speech. Nothing makes a fan madder than saying he or she doesn't have the right to do this or that. Sometimes Danny's too quotable for his own good.

Well, we certainly could use some starting pitching. But we didn't have what Beane wanted (major league ready young arms), and I still say Zito would be a mistake, given he'd likely never sign long-term in Cincy.
