O.K. we have the sunday night game on ESPN. Milton's going against Weaver, we may have a chance to win 2 in a row.Would be really nice to see a sell-out here and give the boys a boost before the Pads come in. Also.it shows Lindner that even though times are tough the fans are still here. Maybe ol Carl will then force DanO to do something other than a simple roster move. I think the lineup should be;
1)Jimenez
2)Lopez
3)casey
4)Dunn
5)griffey
6)kearns
7)randa
8)larue
I think we should stick to this lineup until wily mo gets back, its the best we got and use Freel to give guys days off(miley's super sub).

I'm hoping for a good crowd as well. I'm taking my mother, our little tradition every year for mother's day. Hopefully Milton can keep the ball in the park tomorrow night and the offense can get it going again.

If Milton pitches inside and keeps the ball down we will have a chance. He didnt that his last start and went 6 innings gave up 5 hits and 1 run. I hope he can do the same or better on sunday.

Dunn has hit six of his eight homeruns this year in games televised by ESPN. Let's hope he can continue that trend and hit about two more Sunday night.

CincyRedsFan30

Dunn probably doesn't like the fact that he doesn't get the attention he deserves on ESPN, which makes him extra motivated for the games on their network.

Dunn is going to have a helluva game tomorrow, I can feel it. I'm also gonna go out on a limb and predict Milton does too. Let's give the boys in the pen a much needed rest!

I don't think Adam Dunn cares about ESPN exposure. He's never come across as that kind of person. If you read on one of the blogs recent interview with Lancaster where they talked about what the players were like that would seem to be true. Lancaster's main point about Dunn was that he is not defined by baseball and caught up in the trappings that come with it. Very interesting read

I'm sure Miley would remind you that Jimenez accomplished that feat coming off the bench, and Kearns as well for that matter. Clearly that is where they feel most comfortable. ;)

Puke. x 2. That's awful for a nationally televised game. Isn't the idea to get your BEST players showcased for a national audience? Aurilia over Kearns is pure rubbish.

Of course if they win 9-2 we'll be too happy to bother with the details.

Pena should be on the DL if his quad is still acting up...this organization playing short handed time and time again baffles me

Sean Casey 18.75% of his hits are EBH, I wish he was fast.

Ryan Freel in RF to put Kearns on the Bench vs Weaver is a shame (I'm assuming Pena is still hurting)

Lopez at 2nd now means we have 3 2nd baseman and 1Aurilia and 5 OF's and 1 Aurilia.

I think we have too many Aurlia's IMO.

It's quite obvious that this organization doesn't like Kearns. Shame.

Nah, it's obvious that Dave thinks that Vets are the way to go and that his "shuffling" of the lineup and the insertion of "speed" at the top has a greater cache over speed at the top and Kearns in the middle.

Freel officially has the worst RF arm in baseball, it might take a couple of guys taking bases from him for that to sink in.

CincyRedsFan30
05-08-2005, 07:26 PM
Jeff Weaver has given up 55 fly balls and 39 ground balls this year, so I'm hoping our power hitters can get hit some pitches out against him. (Even though he has given up two HR in 36.2 IP this year). It would seem GABP would be the place where he might have a rough night if he pitches like he normally does in allowing FB.

I agree. The Weaver lovefest isn't appealing considering his past numbers and personality. I don't see the "great" stuff.
I agree Aronchis,Weaver is sometimes really good, sometimes really bad. No proof that he can be one or the other consistently.

I agree that Aurilla is a dumb hitter, but I have no idea how you can't think Weaver has good stuff watching this game. I'm not saying he is a top notch SP, he doesn't have the head to be that, but his stuff is nasty, IMO.no he doesn't and his 5.7 ERA attests to that. He had mediocre stuff but is a smart pitcher who counts on most hitters not being patient and will get themselves out chasing his junk(that really only applies for RH hitters). He has nothing for the lefties and he knows it. He had no intention of pitching to Jr or Dunn because he wasn't afraid of Randa and Aurilia.

True. He also brings that vet. presence and knows how to handle himself.

As O'Brien said to Lance the other day, we need to be confident in him. He just needs a little more time. Just a few more months before we give up on him!

I've come to two realizations tonight. #1.) I'm starting to dislike Weber more than I dislike Weathers, and that's really saying something. #2.) We can sit here and argue about what the line-up should be, and why Kearns isn't playing, or why Lopez isn't in all the time, or any of the things that SHOULD be happening. The reality is it doesn't matter, because no matter what the line-up is we aren't going to score 10+ runs every night. Until we get some pitching we just aren't going to win no matter what the line-up is. Losing sucks, huh.

On case you were wondering Sean is the worst in MLB. 10 GIDP in 33 chances. In case your wondering, Adam "the K" Dunn is on the opposite end of the list.

For BF I will come up with a new stat tomorrow it is called adjusted batting average where the batter has one hit subtracted from his total hits for each GIDP hit into.

As impressive as Case was last year, he has really struggled this year. His lack of HR don't even do his poor performance justice.

Until (if) he starts improving, I'm thinking he should probably be batting somewhere around 6th or 7th.
