I don't like seeing Jimenez second with the way he's hit lately, especially against Lieber.

Dunn 5th/Kearns 7th=

I have two problems with that lineup one is why D'Angelo Jimenez playing?? and why is Kearns still batting 7th.

My lineup with these players would be

1 Felipe Lopez, SS
2 Joe Randa, 3B
3 Sean Casey, 1B
4 Ken Griffey Jr., CF
5 Austin Kearns,RF
6 Adam Dunn,LF
7 D'Angelo Jimenez,
8 Javier Valentin, C
9 Ramon Ortiz, P

Although I'd want Casey lower, with that lineup there aren't so many choices(since I'd have Freel starting over Jimenez). Here's what I'd do with this one though:

1) Felipe Lopez SS
2) Adam Dunn LF
3) Sean Casey 1B
4) Ken Griffey Jr. CF
5) Austin Kearns RF
6) Joe Randa 3B
7) D'Angelo Jimenez 2B

Not too bad, but I'd go a little differently and tweak it a bit.

1. Ryan Freel, 2B
2. Felipe Lopez, SS
3. Adam Dunn, LF
4. Austin Kearns, RF
5. Ken Griffey, CF
6. Sean Casey, 1B
7. Joe Randa, 3B
8. Larue/Valentine, C

Reason I do this is it puts speed at the top of the linup. You put kearns in a run producing role, and between someone who gets on base in front of him, and someone who can protect him and possibly force AK to see better pitches, since Griffey's had a hot bat lately.

And in the case of Dunn/Kearns/Griff getting a walk, you got Randa/Casey in there who can get a nice base hit and drive in some guys who walk before them.

If he comes back in EXACTLY 15 days..then I think Dan O is our Aurilia fan and not Miley.

I'm all for veteran gamers, but if the youth is producing than that's who you put out there. (i.e. Felipe Lopez) If a veteran, higher played QB isn't doing it, then the young QB takes the job. That happens all the time, no different here.

I can't believe that interleague play starts next Friday already. Am I the only one who thinks that's a little early. I thought the idea behind interleague play was to sort of take a break during the middle of the summer grind and play some different teams -- sort of a novelty for fans and players.

But we're going to see the Indians before we see four NL teams -- Giants, Rockies, Braves, Nationals. And the Tribe will be in Cincinnati before three more NL teams -- Braves, Marlins and Phillies.

It also doesn't make sense to see as many home games vs. the Orioles as the Dodgers, Braves or Mets. Puzzling

fisch11

I don't really understand the philosophy of this pitching staff sometimes. Bobby Abreu has hit HRs in 4 straight games. So why, with two outs and nobody on base, is he given a good pitch to hit?

Even more aggravating was yesterday. Ryan Klesko was 7-13 with 5 HRs in his career against Paul Wilson and Wilson grooves one to him with two on and two outs. You would think he would be able to make some sort of adjustment or at the very least pitch around the guy.

The old Griffey is dead. This is the new Griffey. He isn't looking homer first anymore, but OBP and contact. With his banged up legs, he is more apt to take a single rather than a homer.

A good move or not, it may or may not extend his career. His legs seemed to bother him in April, however playing everyday seems to have gotten some life under them.

Whether he can handle the wear and tear of a MLB season, which he couldn't last year, is questionable.
