Adam Dunn is clearly not the Reds most productive hitter. He strikes out way too much, his BATTING AVERAGE is horrible in those sitations, and he is not the least bit KRISPy.

The fact that he leads the Reds in both runs scored and runs driven in are mirages.

Plus, its Dunn fault that Larue and Kearns aren't hitting (They see Dunn on ESPN and want to join him on the highlights so they swing for the fences, hence their struggles) and if you take out all the games in which Dunn has had a hit then he is batting .000.

Maybe, but he's been respectable one week out of six. He's brutal to watch right now. I said it a thousand times about Boone, but REALLY good players don't slump for a month. If they do, they aren't REALLY players. It's pretty simple. You do what Dunn does or Kearns. You just go out there and work the count to 3-2, and let fate take over from there. Jimenez is wantonly hacking right now.

Unfortunately, you really cannot make too much out of a first start for a player. Ramirez has the advantage of being "new," in that there hasn't been a chance for hitters to look at video of his starts and pick out pitch selection tendencies, release points, and other tips in his delivery that they can use to get ahead of him.

Look at what happened to Matt Belisle...he has a great first start against St. Louis being new, then hitters went to school on him and his curveball and suddenly he couldn't get anyone out.

Unfortunately, you really cannot make too much out of a first start for a player. Ramirez has the advantage of being "new," in that there hasn't been a chance for hitters to look at video of his starts and pick out pitch selection tendencies, release points, and other tips in his delivery that they can use to get ahead of him.

Look at what happened to Matt Belisle...he has a great first start against St. Louis being new, then hitters went to school on him and his curveball and suddenly he couldn't get anyone out.


While you may be right, with the season as it is, I have to find my bright spots, where I can...hence my lil silver lining :D

Maybe, but he's been respectable one week out of six. He's brutal to watch right now. I said it a thousand times about Boone, but REALLY good players don't slump for a month. If they do, they aren't REALLY players. It's pretty simple. You do what Dunn does or Kearns. You just go out there and work the count to 3-2, and let fate take over from there. Jimenez is wantonly hacking right now.

Now wait a second, Austin Kearns has struggled for the better part of two years while Jiminez has been steady.

D'Angelo's no superstar and he's not likely to become one, but he is a useful major league regular.

Bad months happen, even to REALLY good players (Ken Griffey Jr. for instance). When those bad months are completely out of line with what that player normally delivers you've got to have some confidence that he's going to come around, like Jiminez has been doing for the past 10 days or so.
