It seems we've really had a disproportionate number of Reds telecasts this year. Maybe we'll luck out and that trend will change over course of season. Grande is starting to make me physically ill.

Hi.

Hello

I have the Met's annoucers, loving it like a day at the park with the family.

I'm getting 'em on. getting 'em over and getting 'em in (which BTW is a Dodger Team Motto from the Alston era)

How can a team ever win more than 1 game in a row with the pitching we have... If I was Dunn, Kearns, or WMP, I would never sign a LTC with the Reds until they prove they can sign or develop some pitching...
It is getting rediculous...

On the bright side... 1-2/3 more innings and Paul matches Milton's IP total. Milton has given up 4 more HRs (14 to 10). Paul should have a "lower" total at 43-2/3 IP. Only 10... which is better than 14. But Milton does a lower ERA at 7.21.

Probably should tell them not to give that Milton guy a multi-year $$deal$$ either. oh wait. nevermind with that too! :bang:

That's Ralph Kiner he's over 800 years old and was the 1940's version of Jim Thome, bad back and all.

If you don't let the water roll off your back sometimes you'll miss the gems that these guys do have.

Me: "The reason I got mlb.tv in the first place is because I travel. And if I'm not going to be able to view a game taking place in NY when I'm in TN and being billed from nowhere near, then it's not one bit of good to me."

mlb.tv Supervisor: "Well, it's actually perfect for the traveller because I live in NY and can't watch Yankees games but when I travel to Florida, I can."

At that point, my idiot alarm went off. I don't like idiots. The primary reason they make me angry is that when they talk to you from a customer service position, they think you're dumber than they are.

Well, at least I don't have to watch Wilson pitch tonight.

I'm in TN right now (travelling) and tried to log on to mlb.tv to watch the Reds game in NY. It appears that Nashville is in the nebulous blackout area for Reds games. And they wouldn't override even though my billing address is nowhere near TN.

Needless to say that their customer service reps got to see me angry. Bruce Banner angry.

Buh-bye mlb.tv.

Two questions. Why would your current location matter? I thought mlb.tv was based on your billing address, hence the e-mail addy sign in? I've never tried logging on anywhere else, but that seems strange.

Second question. Are you sitting in the bathroom floor tonight? The Reds haven't won a game since then and it's time for you to take one for the team. Come on. You can do it, just swallow your pride and sit in the floor the next couple of hours.

1. Nope. It appears to be based on the IP address (and the corresponding zip code) from where you're logged on.

Another problem is Marty's selective memory about his trackrecord of lauding the very same acquisitions he later derides the organization for making. No one carried the torch for Rich Aurilia this Spring, while criticizing Lopez's play, like Marty did. There was no harsher "cut him loose" critic of Wily Mo Pena when he was trying to learn the ropes, while riding the pine, than was Marty etc... He's harped on Dunn's plate approach, sang the praises of some of our worst signings/extensions in recent history, based on liking them personally, their perceived veteran savvy etc... He's so rarely on the right side of any given issue (partly due to lack of statistical research, partly stemming from egomania ;)), yet is the first to offer an arbitrary scathing review any and everyone when things head south. I haven't listened to him for years, and haven't missed anything.

That's all on the 3B coach. There isn't a MLB team that exists that doesn't have their 3B coach giving a "stay" or "go" command on any ball hit to the OF with a runner on third.

Our new GM was handed that task *last* year (translate a big season into the ability to move one of the big, burdensome contracts). Instead, he retained Casey after his torrid start made him temporarily appear a bargain, he held Paul Wilson at his career high trade value and instead extended him, and he failed to parlay Graves early strong numbers into any type of movement... and as a result extended none of the actual long-term core either. DanO's since compounded his inability to flip a bad contract (like Jimbo always did with guys like Bichette etc...) by adding a number of his own albatross signings. He's basically whiffed on every task he's been given as a GM handed the responsibility of a rebuild.
