Sorry Mr. Looper, no save for you!

Saying Danny Graves is pitching batting practice is no longer a joke. It's true. I would bet most major legue hitters hit Graves just as well as they do their batting practice pitcher.

WHIP now over 2.00 and a BAA over .300, and I'm sure an OPSA to match. He is virtually pitching batting practice, and has been reduced to a 1 pitch pitcher, whose primary pitch has a nasty propensity to stay up in the zone rather than sink with any regularity.

Cliff Floyd was trying to hit the ball 700 feet with those swings.

The New York media fully expected a sweep and they were right. This team has reached the level of noncompetitive. Here's the good news--- it doesn't get any worse than this.

Reverting to the secondary pitch, his backdoor curve, which hasn't been effective since about 2000.

You know, I don't think it will solve anything, but if the Reds continue to put on exhibitions like the one today (and like the many that have gone on for the last 6 weeks), I gotta think Miley's job is going to be in jeopardy soon. Jeez these guys are playing lousy baseball.

What's the saying? You can't fire all the players so the manager goes.

Stormy

At first, I thought he wanted to stay out there longer because opposing fans don't 'boo' him. However, now there are some pretty derisive chants finding their way towards the Baby Faced A$$assin, even on the Road.

I feel small.

No...it can get worse than this. I say this beause I said it after the Milwaukee series....it got worse. I said it after the St Louis series...it got worse. I thought we saw some positives early on in the Philly series...nope...got worse.

I have no reason to think we have bottomed out with what I have recently seen from the group of "baseball" players.

We could lose every game the rest of the year and I would't feel any worse about this organization than I do now. We've hit the bottom. Which is not to say we are going to rise from the bottom any time soon.

Fitting, as is the fact that this afterthought reliever has a 20K-to-3BB ratio this year, whereas our $6 million "closer" boasts a 5K-to-11BB rate on the season.

Nice game for the struggling Sean Casey.

The saddest thing is no matter how bad this gets you just know this organization will do nothing. On the day off tomorrow there should be major changes. Instead Miley will spend the day dreaming up more insane lineups, Linder will count his millions and O' Brien will go buy more binders.

Yea, this organization is just like a huge anchor dragging on the bottom of the ocean floor. Hopefully there's a drop off on the ocean floor about a mile deep that will cause the anchor to drop and yank the ship under, and sink it, for good.

How in the world can ownership/management justify Miley being employed by the REDS on this date? He has no control whatsoever of this team.

Miley might have taken them down this terrible path, but ownership/managment took them to the point of no return.

After the HR by Wright, the next hitter bounced back to Graves. Graves took his time to throw it to first and then threw it away from about 15 feet away.

What a disastrous season.

Over by May 18th.

This team was not that bad.

Miley is such an idiot that he couldn't recognize before the season began that Aurilia was worthless, that Freel should start everyday, that Pena should have started every day. He is truly lacking brain cells that the rest of the human race has in their head.

Yet, his brain seems to be tied to something common with the management of this club because he wasn't fired before being allowed to tank the entire season.

thanks I needed that, I think. maybe they'll put it on the sports clips. well, if the hitter doesn't take advantage of his pitching he's nice enough to help them out. it's a wonder that the batter didn't throw it back like a good fan would in chicago. I don't think any self respecting batter would accept a gift like that from the likes of graves.

I hold out some faith, based on the Marlins of a couple seasons ago, but in order for that to happen there needs to be changes and in a hurry. If the current situation continues without changes at Manager, Closer, and starting rotation then they will lose the 106 games they are on pace to lose.

Tampa has just as many (26), and Colorado is close behind with 25.

What's the top of the 2006 draft look like?

Thats what they want you to think- Lindner and his crew. Do you really think it would make one cotton picking difference if Aurilia started everyday or if Freel played from the beginning. Or who the manager is? Come on. We have a 5.70 ERA . Sparky coulnd't win with these guys. This organization is incompetent, and it starts way above Miley, like at the top.

Pretty good actually, there's some quality college arms coming down the pike Andrew Miller and Daniel Bard of UNC, Dallas Buck of Oregon State, Ian Kennedy of USC and Wade LeBlanc of Alabama top the list. Miller's probably the best of the bunch.

I'm probably going to go watch Dallas Buck this weekend as the Beavers play the Trojans. How about that for a headline? Make up your own. ;)

It'd be great if Kennedy was facing Buck on the same day.
