*sigh*...glad I'm playing poker tonight.

Regardless of Miley, Go Reds!

No Freel again?

Bergolla is taking Aurilias spot..when Rich is ready..he's back and batting 2nd.

LvJ
05-21-2005, 06:34 PM
I highly doubt Aurilia will start over Lopez and Freel. It's not going to happen. I have more faith in Miley than that. Freel right now has a back problem, so it's cool to see Willy get some starts while he can. The lineup is fine, or expected, but I'd move Kearns to the 2 spot and Dunn to the 3 spot. Other than that.. lets make it two in a row with another good outing for Ramirez, please.

Doubtful, Lopez has shown what younger age can give you at SS, I don't expect regression to be the final goal of the team.

I can't help liking George. He has a nice even-keel thing going on that makes all the Reds seasons seem like they fall into the "this too shall pass" category. Of course then the game ends and I decide that really the Reds will be awful forever and ever, or at least the next 5 years which feels like forever:).

Plus he doesn't think he's the arbiter of everyone's worthiness like Marty.

For as many pitches as he has thrown though, the reds should be tagging for a few more runs before chasing him from the mound.

Ok...you asked for it...

"When a big hitter is out of the lineup, it's not the performance that's missed- it's their presence. Like when Ken Griffey Jr. is in the lineup, Eric Wedge knows it and when Juan Gonzalez is in the Indians lineup, Dave Miley knows it."

There was no follow-up to this. At least no follow-up that could be understood by humans.

Yeah. Hoard is actually good and, IMO, was having a difficult time following Grande's line of thinking on the "big hitter presence" thing. It was almost like he was trying to avoid saying anything rational- thereby making Grande look stupid.

Back to Ramirez a moment. Yes he's given up 5 runs but overall despite that one inning he has pitched economically, with a ton of first pitch strikes. The runs I attribute to youth. And he'll mature. His first inning after those runs scored he sttled down right away.

there used to be a place near me, run by a nice Japanese family, that had THE best gyros on the planet. Not a big lamb eater, but those Steak/cheese gyro with extra greek sauce were to DIE for. Maybe it was the slight almuninium taste from the wrapings or something.
