And so it starts. The YUMMY Strawberry Festival is this weekend. Then comes festivals of all shapes and sizes. So here's a list.

And it's not listed, but Beavercreek will be having an Ox Roast (use to be a yearly event here) in late June - where else can you see a parade of 25 6-foot Beavers...

Summer Festival Guide
Music, rides, games and a lot of food...

It's that time of year again — a time that gives a deeper, more shameful meaning to the word glutton. A time filled with foods that, although noticeably absent from the food pyramid, are not from our diets. If we're being honest with ourselves, it's not like this year will be any different. So bring on the corn dogs, funnel cakes, ice cream, sweet corn, strawberries, cotton candy and french fries — just don't forget the Tums.

I will be attending the Strawberry festival this weekend, whichever day (if any) it doesn't rain all day.

I also look forward to the Americana 4th of July festival in Centerville, the Pork Festival (in Germantown?), and the Sauerkraut festival (in Waynesville?)

I thought the Ox Roast used to be in Centerville. Did they switch it?

Might of. Beavercreek had one each year in the 60's (or so my great great grandmother told me). Then they just stopped, so maybe they moved to Centerville. Her memory isn't what is use to be.

I didn't see anything about the Lake Festival in Celina. I'd go but I can't stand the smell of the lake.

Nice list. Would almost fill a full week in California. :)

But, seriously, festivals are great----I work them most of the summer----and it really is a great job. I almost feel like I should be paying my company to go there.

I hope you all get a chance to get to the event of your choice this summer. It's simply a terriffic way to spend a summer day.

Have a great time!
