Reason #964,227 to like F. Lopez: He could have just gone up hacking in that situation, after the Reds had just tacked on three more to make it a laugher. But no, he goes up there and works an 8-pitch AB. Freaking. Awesome. Draft the contract for this kid. Now.

Doesn't matter, with a 6 run lead, Coffey or Belisle should be pitching today, not Wagner. Having 2 days off in a row isn't a crime, especially for somebody who is supposed to be in your top 3 relievers. When was the last time Weathers pitched?

shoulder injuries can take a while to recover from. Casey was allowed to stink it up for a year and a half to "work through" it, why not give Kearns the same opportunity in a season lost?

Casey had surgury in 2002 and was fully recovered by 2004. Kearns had his shoulder surgury in 2003 and still is "subpar" in 2005. I don't think Kearns shoulder injury is "lingering", I think a poor work ethic has not allowed him to recapture his mechanics with hitting post-shoulder unlike Casey who got back into shape. That is Austin's fault entirely. I would sure love Austin over free-swinging WMP, but not in his current condition. He has some work to do. Hopefully AAA will get it done for him.

Sitting there watching the Orioles trot their geriatrics out there on Friday night I couldn't help but wonder how they are going to maintain their pace this season. They have a good pythag so far, so maybe they are legit. I don't think they can hang that long though. Maybe if Bedard comes back from injury strong.

It isn't the reps, it is the mechanics. They are a mess. He needs a "spring training" during the summer to recapture them. The lack of slugging may be due to a "lingering" shoulder, but the poor hitting isn't, especially with the talent Austin has to give.

Probably a lot better if we didn't have Milton pitching. Gotta feeling he'll be the one to bring the good times to a screeching halt. The thought of him grooving pitches to Boston's lineup at Fenway is just scary.

I say he gives up his usual 7 runs by the 5th inning with 3 HR's and they delay Tuesdays games for repairs on the Green Monster from all the other HR's that just didn't have enough height.

TC has been right just as often, but his insight is better. He has press creds, has been on the field, and been seen by zoners there (i believe the teamsters can confirm this.) also he has been ver knowledgable on the inner goings on at L'ville and with the Florence Freedom. See his recently posted "stories" threads for more insight into the guy he is.

He doesn't need me to defend him... He wouldn't know me from Adam, but his insider info has been spot on when he cares to share it. In fact he posted a lot of stuff about Graves at the time of his DFA that made me respect the position he is in with regards to what he can post all the more.

Oh, I don't think he's lying maliciously, I just know that a lot of his "information" is very much processed through the subjective filter. Heck, Hal McCoy has a ton of access too but I totally disagree with many of his "takes" on things.

Now TCII isn't *sure*, about whether it was mandatory or not, "maybe, I think it was" isn't good enough for me. Just the facts, ma'am.

If you're going to make a serious accusation about Dunn's character, that he deliberately shirked his responsibility to show up for extra BP, then you better have a better idea than an "understanding," to quote TC II.
