Yeah because Dunn can't hit lefties.

We'll see him in the 2nd game, with Olmedo and EE protecting him :explode:

Doesn't make a lot of sense. You'd think KG would be the guy getting the rest today in one of the games today, unless they plan to play WMP in center in second game, which I doubt, or plan to play Romano in both games which would just be stupid.

OnBaseMachine
07-02-2005, 04:03 PM
I really think this organization wants Dunn to fail. They hit him down in the order, sit him during hot streaks and bench him vs homerun prone pitchers.

I loathe this organization.

TMBS, I don't really have a problem with giving the guy a day off during a double header. he has played more games than any other Red.

My guess is that KG gets tomorrow off and EE get into the second game today.

i honestly believe this is Dan O'Brien trying to keep Dunn's arb figures down. i imagine Dunn hitting second was Narron's idea and DanO probably freaked out about it thinking, "he's already a leader in runs scored in the back of the lineup, i can't afford to allow him to score more runs."

CTA513
07-02-2005, 04:10 PM
If Dunn could get a hit off Pettitte, then he should be able to get some hits off Rodriguez.

Matt700wlw
07-02-2005, 04:12 PM
Dunn will probably play in game 2...Griffey probably won't.

Game 2 lineup (jokingly, hopefully...)

Lopez SS
Aurilia 2B
Cruz RF
Romano CF
Dunn LF
Valentin 1B
Larue C
Encarnacion 3B
Ortiz P

Maybe not in that order...

OnBaseMachine

In my opinion, Dunn doesn't need another day off. Miley gave him a day off on June 17 vs the Braves, plus the Reds had offdays on June 23 and 27th. Dunn himself said he doesn't need a lot of offdays.

The way Dunn has hit lefty's this season he should have been sat down a long time ago if anyone of the other guys did that bad against lefty's or righty's they would be sat in those situations. Sorry ;)

You should have seen the time I tipped the boat trying to get a lure out of a tree. Arms sunk in the mud up to my elbows, Old Vienna splits rattling from one side to the other, friends on the other side looking on in horror and helpless. Just ask them who caught the biggest bass though.

Camp Jester ..... someone has to do it. :)

Between them, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin - I can't get enough of them.

The album Final Cut was the final straw for the other three though. Waters musical direction was going in the opposite direction.

I always felt Waters and Lennon were similar personalities. Their personal tragedies/trauma were instrumental in shaping their characters and creative writing abilities. Very similar in alot of ways IMO.

My DirectTV screen shows that the Reds game, starting at 5:30 pm, is televised on MLB EI. But since they screwed up the first one, and the game is certainly going to start well before that, I really have no clue if it will actually be shown.

BTW, I called DirectTV and the lady I talked to had NO CLUE about what happened with the telecast of game 1. She even said that they didn't have a channel 646 in their line up. I had to point out to her that it was displayed on MY screen.

After lots of time, fumbling and mumbling, she tried to blame the screw up on the baseball team.....she said they can turn off the feed whenever the feel like it. I asked why I was paying them.....

There's a world of difference between an honest retread like Stone and a young pitcher with good stuff who's been ineffective because of injuries as much as anything.
