Uggh,

I roll my eyes anytime Javier and Cruz play!!!

Seems as though there is a very capable OF in AAA right now and also, if that is the best we can do for a backup catcher, we better hope LaRue never gets hurt!!

Now watch them both hit like 3 HR's tonight!

Valentin isnt having that bad a year truly for a backup C....757 OPS. (100 points higher than his Career number). Just for comparrison:

LaRue .782
Casey .756

Yeah but can he field as well as Machado? Plus, I don't think he's seeing enough pitches per at bat, and a hitter with an 8 pitch at-bat it certainly more valuable than one that triples in just a few quick pitches. We need more "quality" at-bats and I think the only way we're going to see them is when we can get Machado in the order. :help:

Seems like Cassey has been the man tonight doesn't it?? What is OPS again and how does that drive in Runs.

Not to rain on your parade, but 1 clutch double doesn't exactly make up for a season's worth of stagnant hitting from the 3-hole. His low OBS is basically stating that it's a blue moon when he hits more than a single.

And the most beautiful thing about Dunn's hr (unless Gameday is messing with me) is that it was to left field. Hopefully it means he's starting to use his power to all fields.

Olmedo is batting 615 and they said he was going down to the minors when Freel comes back. I guess they are detemined to keep Machado.

I can feel a road series win now!!!!

Maybe with that 10 game home stand after the AS break, we could be right back in the Wild Card!!!!

Isn't this 10 road wins on the year, or have I lost count?

Hey, in a season like this, you gotta find something. And that unbalanced single digit - double digit road record just leaped out of the newspaper at you.

This is the first road series the Reds have won all year and I believe this is their best road trip all year.

I can see the team gradually improving, a gleam of hope here, a young player doing well there, and I should be able to see clear to enjoy what progress may come from here on out, but the gnawing is still there. I watch the games and I wonder, what will happen between now and the trading deadline? How many of the core group of young outfielders will be gone, and what will the FO see as a fair return?

I hate thinking like this. I need to just relax and watch baseball for a while.
