Amazing how much better offensively that Cubs lineup seems to look with the name Prior penciled into the 9th spot.

Narron has a contract with Kinko's and they copied 70 lineups. Narron is afraid to take them back because the Reds may lose money.

That 3rd inning by Hudson is a microcosm of the pitchers that have been in the Reds org this century. Hudson was cruising through that inning, two quick outs, had Lee 0-2. So what's he do? Starts nibbling, throws a couple of hideous curveballs that looked like something a guy who's just learning the pitch would throw, runs it 3-2, and then serves up a big fatty down the middle the Lee handles like a snack cake. Of course, Burnitz is to be feared, so don't give him anything to hit  , you'd rather pitch to Ramirez, and then you throw one right at the catcher's target, hit your spot on the outside corner for the first time in about ten pitches, and Ramirez, who is fearless with our rag arms, just reaches out and smacks it belt high. My question is, why is LaRue asking for belt high fastballs on the outside corner against Aramis Ramirez? Can anyone around here play this game? :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I'll reserve the right to judgement based upon a couple of trips to Wrigley. They aren't knowledgable about some fundamental rules or just plain everday stuff. They don't come to the ballpark and watch the game - its a party, not a baseball game. The Tribune Co. knows this. Why do you think they have their own scalping booths?

On the other hand, Cardinal fans are remarkably polite and knowledgable. They drink too, but there are lot of baseball fans in that town. A few of them were quite apologetic when I told them I was a Reds fan. Had a guy talk my ear off discussing my team and its downfalls. He hoped the Reds would come back in a couple years and be competitive. Guy made a trip to Cincinnati and felt the people around him were just as nice as others.

Take a second mortgage on your home - haha

No, but seriously.

Save some money up - go to Riverfront Choice tickets and get a set of Cubs tickets. Not many twos together. Take a girl or a buddy or your dad with you (whatever's convienent). Drive to Chicago to the nearest suburban train station. Take a train into Downtown and then take a CTA "L" train to Addison. Get their 3 hours early. Take in the sites, a beer if you so desire, or a snack. Watch the game - get a Chicago dog off the roof - second deck grill is my choice - then grab an Old Style (Hudy that's not bad) and enjoy the game. Block all the nonsense around you - enjoy the best out of town scoreboard anywhere.

If you want to make a weekend of it and you got some cash - get a hotel somewhere either downtown or in the suburbs and either go up to Milwaukee or plan a weekend that involves a Sox game. Crappy neighborhood - but hey, its in Chicago and you're there anyway.

Milwaukee's park is nice - its probably the tallest structure in town. Nice big parking lots. You can even park in the lot "Reds". Good grub - steamed sauerkraut on the condements bar. Yum!

Have fun up there Matt!

Sorry to digress - is there a game on? ;) :bang:

Sorry to digress - is there a game on? ;) :bang:

Sounds fun! Someday, maybe I can make it happen

In Chicago I will refer to them as fans, and not "fans" (even though some of them probably don't deserve it), because at least it's their home.

Around here, most of these clowns are probably Reds fans, or they aren't really baseball fans except when the Cubs come to town because it's cool to root for the Cubs...they're on TV

With all due respect to you Matt, I'm tired of the so called sportstalk host of WLW Pretending to be SHOCKED and ASHAMED of the amount of Cubs Fans that show up at GABP for every REDS vs Cubs Series.

The next time we play Chicago here at home it will be the same tired routine
what a shock and a shame.

An easy excuse for the sportstalk host to "mail it in" and do no research what so ever or God forbid talk about the game. Now don't take this the wrong way, I'm not sayin' the host should be an ex player Jones and Trumpy suck.

Is it really asking too much for a sportstalk host to do some show prepairation and or research? Is it wrong to ask for the host of a sportstalk show to talk sports or at the very least be a sports fan?

I'm Really sorry, I just had to vent.
