Today it's understandable not to have EE playing.

But...still insanity to have RA in front of Dunn and Kearns

I cant wait until Aurillia is gone. He is not a Red in my book. I just cant embrace the guy.

I picked up Aurilia on my fantasy team last week though. I feel dirty. He's doing ok for me.

But I do agree with the sentiment. He's just not a Red I tend to like. But I'll milk his recent streak for all it's worth.

I think it's a total disgrace to the sport, hell - to AMERICA to have Aurilia batting ahead of Dunn and Kearns.

I never understood the hatred on this board for Aurilia and even Valentin. Sure Rich should not be batting no where but 8th but he is a good back up utility player and at very little cost. Hey I was there with you all when Lopez was sitting and RA was playing SS, but that was Mileys fault not Rich's. What was he to do, tell Miley I need to sit and let others play? "Hey Dave, don't let me play on a daily basis as I don't wan't to upset RedZoners" :help: :dunno:

I think they want RA to get as many good pitches as he can with Runner on base to try and increase his trade value.

His sorry bush league treatment after Miley was fired, his complaining about playing short.

The guy would have bene fine in my book if he just kept a Jacob Cruz like profile. Cruz, I like, because he is just glad to be where he is and give 100% even though he is professional pinch hitter.

I don't think Rich really needs to be showcased. I mean, comeon, what is Rich really going to bring us in a trade? Nothing of any value. He won't bring us a prospect of half the quality of the pair we got for Randa.

Just the truth.

This lineup is exactly why Narron won't be back next year.

The Reds are 14 games under .500 - would Freel at third until EdE was ready (which was a month ago) really have made them worse?? Not to mention the money going to pitching?

Claussen didn't get by on offspeed stuff in the first place. His minor league career was built on power pitching and a nasty breaking pitch. He would mix in a cutter with it and that was all he needed.

His velocity has fluxed this year, from peeking out in the high 80's in April to the low 90's in May and June. That has been his MO since return from TJ surgury. Some guys just don't return from it though the odds are good for most.

Yuppers, TJ took away his best two pitches. I would let him throw "max" effort in the bullpen and check if he regains some of his stuff there.I saw a post TJ start in Louisville right after the trade. He struck out 10 in 6 innings, mostly on the nasty slider. He had righties hacking at that thing, it was bouncing in the dirt down and in. After the Reds shut him down in August of that year I have never seen that slider again.

Watching the Sox-Sox game on WGN ... it's funny listening to these guys.

Crede full count walk, Uribe comes up and grounds into a double play. Right when Uribe swung, I think Ken said "Awwww" ... and then it was complete silence. No "4-6-3" .. just "awww" ..

This brings up the question, would you rather have quaility annoucers who favor no team (or sometimes the other team, grande!) .. or crappy annoucers who are total homers?

Narron was too slow to pull the trigger.

Exactly. If he had pulled Claussen, the game might be tied.

Is it just me or do umpires squeeze Claussen all the time. It seemed like Brandon wasn't getting the corner pitches so to get strikes, he was leaving himself open for the big fly.

Either way, Narron did his best Miley-Gullett impression on that one.

The Reds are 14 games under .500 - would Freel at third until EdE was ready (which was a month ago) really have made them worse?? Not to mention the money going to pitching?

So yes, I would have taken that for more money going towards pitching.

I'll say this one last time, and with Joe's move west the subject should be closed.

The Reds thought so much of Freel as a starting 3rd baseman that they had Austin Kearns working out at the hot corner, last winter.

Then they signed Randa.

Based on Ryan's 2 errors today...the Reds could've been lot a lot worse off without Randa during the first half of 2005, thank goodness we didn't have to find out how much

Don't you need somebody to loathe?

Most of the announcers I don't like, but I'm sort of coming around on these Brewer's announcers (T.V.).

Daron Sutton and Bill Schroeder. Sutton is the son of Don and Bill was a backup catcher for the Brewers in the early '80s. I've been listening to 'em for 5+ years and their act hasn't gotten old. FSN north always seems to be broadcasting the Red's games, and I'd rather listen to Daron and Bill than George and the Creeper calling the action

They'll be interviewing Junior and Brady Clark tomorrow before the game, if you've got DirecTV it should be on channel 642

MLB Gameday showed a choaching visit to the mound and an Injury Delay, but he's pitching again now.

Dave just made a deliberate motion with his arm ("I've gotta stay on top of the ball") and the coaches thought he might be injured. Schroeder joked when catchers get nailed by a foul tip the bench just laughs, but when pitchers grimace the trainer sends out 15 ambulances. :D

The sooner Aurilia is traded, the sooner he won't be out there(how deep is that?). He is only out there now for shining purposes. If there are no takers by the 31st, I guarantee it (for whatever it is worth), Aurilia will not be an everyday starter.

he's got a better one for 2B.

I suspect that if Freel was given a month of starts at 2B fans would change their tune...but I doubt he'll ever be given the opportunity (in Cincy, or elsewhere)

Ryan's the best defensive CF'er on the roster (a faster Brady Clark?) but unless Casey & Griffey are dealt he won't get a regular gig there, either

Best role for the amped-up weasel? The one he has--utilityman. Over-expose him and he'll wind up back on the DL
