Not picking on you gm, but I've never understood this baseball axiom. No one will say boo about half a dozen righties batting back to back, but put a couple of lefties in a row and that's a problem.

I've heard managers espouse this for years. In the name of "breaking up the lefties" they move guys up in the order who shouldn't be.

I'm so happy I get to watch a whole Reds game tonight! Let's keep the ball rolling, at this point I'm rooting for a over 500 second half, the return to form for Kearns, and the coming out for EE. And of course, Dunn to keep knocking the cover off the ball.

WHen Griffey and Dunn were struggling against LH pitching early in the season, putting LH hitters 3 in a row was more of a concern. But Casey has hit LH pitching better all season, and Griffey and Dunn are now hitting LH pitching very well.

And the Dodgers have no LH reliever. So stack away.

I think Narron is a much better manager than Miley. That's not saying much, but still. I think he realizes Dunn's talents more than Miley did. He made some nice quotes on Dunn in this mornings Enquirer.

"Everybody in baseball would like to have this guy," Narron said. "He gets criticized for (almost never hitting sacrifice fly balls), but his sacrifice flies a lot of times are out of the ballpark, and his hit-and-runs are with the ushers covering up in the seats. He's going to hit 40 home runs a year. You don't worry about that ground ball (hit) to center field at times."

Back to the Gammons proposed deal for a minute. I'm not at all in favor of the Reds trading Dunn, but that deal by Gammons was the best one I've seen proposed by media likes. Cruz and Garcia are major league ready power arms, Braden is pitching solid in double-A after dominating high-A, and Suzuki is a good catch/throw/hit catcher.

But I want Rich Harden in any deal that involves Dunn.

By the way, 10-0 OAK after 4.

To me it's 2 bullpen guys, a AA starter and a catcher...for Dunn I want a MLB ready starter.

I don't make that kind of deal on the assumption that Cruz will turn out to be a good starter, he sure hasn't till now.

Rich Harden for Dunn or no deal.

The thought of Dunn going to LA or Houston is just marrow-shrinkingly horrible. Both have pure fecal matter or overhyped fecal matter in their farm. Like I said some time ago, if Dunn goes to a team for a bunch of prospects, I'm takin' a break (a long break) from the Reds. That would immediately catapult their timetable for competition well into the next decade.

It's nothing Lowe hasn't dealt with before. ''This is something I've had for four years, unfortunately, and that's why I didn't go out for the ninth inning,'' Lowe said
