Rain delay

RBA

Why is Fox Sports putting on this violent sport show during the rain delay? If I had kids who tuned in for the Reds game and they were being shown this I might get a little upset.

True.

I love MMA fighting, so I'll choose to be a little self-centered and say I approve of the programming. However, there is something wrong with showing something that has to feature a "Viewer Discretion Advised" warning in place of a baseball game at 7:15pm.

It is a curious choice, though. You'd think they'd have access to some Reds classic game to run or something.

The radar at kdka.com indicates what rain was threatning has travelled north east, missed Pittsburgh and is almost dissipated....

There's another cell around Wheeling which looks to be moving east, and will stay south of Pittsburgh, and appears to be losing strength...

I find it interesting that while Dunn is slumping badly, he is NOT striking out. He has no Ks in his last 3 games, and only 7 in his last 9 games, which is well below his normal pace. So much for Dunn needing to strike out less to improve his game.

I think most of his struggles earlier in the year was due to the shoulder. I've always heard that it takes nearly two full years for a hitter to regain full strenth in the shoulder after surgery. I don't know how accurate that is, though.

I thought so too. That's one reason why I thought he shouldn't have been sent down. However, combine poor performance with egregious plate impatience, and you had one horrible player for 4 months. He's 25--he needs to start taking control over the mental part of his game.

Welsh finally dawns on the fact that EdE has probably faced Torres in Winter Ball.

Lots of times you'll hear announcers say that X is facing Y for the first time. But many times its not the case. They may have faced each other in Winter Ball (very likely for Latins from the same country), the minors or even college.

I plead forgiveness for everything I may have posted about this guy (concerning his hitting, not his attitude).

RA has the attitude of an old fashioned, tough veteran. We may not find his comments heart warming, but I'll take this guy on my team any day, at least for another couple of years. This is the kind of player that helps you win.

His attitude off the field may bother some people, but he has a great attitude on the field. He hates failing, you can see his irritation when he makes an out. He is not afraid of tough spots.

And, by the way, RA can still play and has shown it in the last couple of months.

Y'know, he sounded kind of excited when Pittsburgh hit their HR earlier.

I was in the other room on the computer and I thought I was listening to the Pirates broadcast and went running in to see what happened.

He did not even get excited on the sac fly. I would be all over it saying how the Reds have come back and now have a two run lead. He did not even mention it as an insurance run.

NO excitement from the Reds Broadcasters, so how can you get excited.

But when Richie hit that double, man did he get excited for him to the point he did not know what to say.

Also, Lloyd used about 15 relievers in this game before going to Mesa. He managed like it was the 7th game of the World Series. So he probably has no pen left.

Man, I was hoping for a win so bad tonight for this reason. Sweep them at home last time they dared to face the mighty REDS in that piece of crap ballpark and then catch up to them before the month is over. 4th place is nuthin' to brag about, but catching the Cubs makes it a bit better.

Where's Steve Bartman? Dusty needs someone to blame. Steve Stone is no longer the problem. Where's BARTMAN?
