Junior in his career against Andy Pettitte:

36 at bats
14 hits
3 doubles
1 homerun
5 rbi
6 walks
.389 average
.476 on base percentage
.556 slugging percentage
1.032 ops

Not bad.

I didn't realize until I looked, Pettite has been incredible this year. Only 4 times has he failed to notch a quality start all season. And a couple of those were because he only went 5 innings. Only 2 really bad starts all year where the opposing team scored 4 or more runs. Let's hope Griffey and mates can break the string tonight!

Just a tidbit : Rotoworld is speculating that with the possible season-ending injury of Bobby Crosby (who apparently had to wait until the last week of my fantasy season to get hurt...nice job pal), Oakland might want to be interested in Rich Aurilia to fill the gap.

Juan Cruz for Aurilia? Please?

The Reds breakdown to easily against the Astros. A missed oppourtunity, a bad pitch, they wig out. It is a mental block they need to overcome in the future seasons unless they rebuild over, which hopefully will bring fresh faces and talents that haven't seen them yet.

The Reds are 32-23 since July 1. The weighted average record of the teams they've played over that stretch is 63-69. The only teams they've played during that stretch with winning records are the Braves, Astros, Marlins, and Nats. Their collective record against those teams is 5-10. Yes, they've been playing better, but the competition has a lot to do with it.

I hate the Astros. Thought I'd put that out in the open.

So, back to what I was saying before I was interrupted by the damn game............... :thumbdown

Is this the most runs that the Astros have scored this year? It seems like they get shut-out every other game
Including tonight the Stros have scored 10 more runs 8 times this year, 3 of which have come agianst the Reds:

Houston is the Bermuda Triangle for the Reds. It's what the West Coast used to be for the Reds during the 70s, 80s and 90s. Not only can't they win there, the games are U-G-L-Y.

This is what happens when the Reds actually meet a good team. They haven't played many good teams since they've started to win some games. When they have, they haven't done very well.

Let's just hope that Keisler and Standridge will be getting raked for someone else next season.

The Reds are proving to be The Not Ready for Prime Time Players. They just can't compete with big guys. Until they can hold their own with the good teams they are doomed to mediocrity. :(

I still cant believe the Reds have been watching Stanridge for several years just drooling for the chance to pick him up from the Devil Rays and Rangers... *puke*
