Tonight will mark the first time since July 11, 2004, that Dunn has hit third in the lineup. He went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored once. The Reds won the game against the Brew Crew 9-6 at Milwaukee.

Believe it or not WMP is better in CF than he is in LF or RF. He's got the best wheels out there and the ball isn't hooking or slicing like it does to RF or LF.

Because Peña is better in CF than he is at either of the corner positions.

Meanwhile, its nice to know that incompetence doesn't only exist in Cincinnati. Russ Branyan, despite leading the team in OPS, in only a part time player at 3B, because he "strikes out too much".

The game I mentioned earlier, the one from 2004, was the only game Dunn hit in the 3rd spot that season too.

Dunn has more AB's in the 9th spot (Pinch hits) the last two seasons than he does the 3 hole.

MRI exam reveals outfielder's right foot is strained

CINCINNATI -- Ken Griffey Jr.'s right foot is hardly 100 percent.

"I can't kick anybody yet," he said with a smile.

Then again, it's hardly injured to the point that it will keep Junior out of action for a drastic period of time. An MRI exam on Monday showed the foot is strained, and Griffey is listed as day-to-day.

Griffey injured the foot while rounding second base in the 12th inning of Sunday's 8-3 win over the Braves.

"After hitting the bag, I tried to make a sharper turn," Griffey said. "I just rolled it."

Griffey had to leave the game early, but he said he was feeling better Monday.

Still, he wasn't quite well enough to start, and he was probably going to be spared from pinch-hit duties as well.

With Griffey out, Wily Mo Pena took over in center field. The outfield will be shored up by the return of utilityman Ryan Freel, who was activated from the disabled list Monday.

Freel has been out since Aug. 16 with injuries to his right knee and right quadriceps muscle.

"Freel's probably ready to close to ready [to start]," Reds manager Jerry Narron said. "But we might still wait a day or two. We might use him in a double-switch or something."

Griffey probably won't be used much at all over the next couple days. The foot injury is the first medical setback of the season for Junior, who has established himself as a strong candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.

Narron said his heart jumped to his throat when Griffey had to leave Sunday's game early.

"Everybody that's been around here has seen how hard he works and how much he wants to play," Narron said. "You don't want anybody to get hurt, for sure. For somebody that has had the difficulty he's had and who's come back to play this year and play extremely well, you sure don't want to see him walk off the field like he did."

I think she may be refering to the three hits and a walk Belisle served up, or choosing Freel to come off the bench cold to pinch hit, even though the Cruzer is hitting lifetime vs. LH pitching .385/.475/.523. Freel's hitting .292/.452/.417 against pitchers of the same handedness of Eveland.

Of course, Claussen was at 117 pitches, and someone had to relieve him. Narron just picked the wrong poison tonight.

Freel was the right move, he stunk the ball hard, and he's our best remaining hitter against the LH pitcher.

Belisle was the right move, he's pitched pretty much as well as Weathers this year, and the 8th inning is his, the 9th is Weathewrs. THere was some very lucky hits that inning, and he had Millar struck out 3 times before he was given the walk.

Somethimes moved don't work out, it's not always because of a wrong choice.

The Brewers pitcher was a LH, Cruz has 14 ab's vs LH's in his last 250 ab's I don't think that was going to happen.

BTW concerning Belise, I was watching it and in Belises inning the SS was shaded towards 2nd for the DP on both GB that went to left, that was a lucky way to get beat on positioning.
