That sure is a pretty lineup card Narron filled out for the game. I have been pretty darn negative about him, but I might come around at least a little bit if he keeps putting the rights bats in the right places. I like it.

So much for Denorfia getting a start against Duke. Wonder what happened to that? Not that I don't like the lineup as it is. Just wondering, they had been pumping up a Denorfia start against Duke for a few days. Maybe game two of the double-dip...

By the way, those two walks by Dunn give him exactly 100 on the season. Dunn has walked 100 times or more in three of his five seasons. In 2003 he walked 74 times in 381 atbats....would have reach 100 walks had he not got injured. The other season he only played 2-1/2 months with the Reds, but he did walk 100 times between AA, AAA and the Reds.

It irks me. We all know that Adam could improve his game... but to me, getting more RBIs does not denote an improvement in one's game, as Marty seems to think. It only means there are guys on base or in scoring position when he gets his hits. He's had a whole lot of homeruns, right? He's even had a fair amount of doubles. Is it his fault that no one was on base when he got them? Or should he wait for baserunners?

Drives me nuts.

One of you should send Marty an email... written in very simple, understandable language... and if he reads it, let's see if he turns it around to mean something different than how it's written.

It seems to me there are players more worthy of complaint than Adam Dunn.

No way. Cota was simply trying to balance himself to get out of the way of Casey's tag. Cota swung his left arm up and just nailed Casey in the face. It was a complete accident and Cota appeared visibly shaken and is STILL hanging around the Reds and Casey on the field (Cota is the only Pirate out there).

OMG, this is aweful!!

Encarnacion throw tailed up the line pulling Casey off the bag. Cota was barrelling down the line and barely saw Casey attempt to swing around to apply the tag. Cota attempted to bend out of the way and he threw his left arm up (bent) to balance himself and his left forearm/elbow nailed casey right in the face. Casey's head snapped back and he went down pretty hard, layed there nearly motionless and finally moved after the trainer got out to the field.

It was completely unintentional on Cota's part. Nothing either he or Casey could do.

Casey's head snapped back and he went down pretty hard, layed there nearly motionless and finally moved after the trainer got out to the field.

I don't know how he managed to hold onto the ball. He dropped like a stone. I wouldn't be suprised if he wasn't knocked out for a second or two. He did seem to be talking to the trainers as they were taking him off the field. That's a good sign. Hope he will be OK.

Between innings they showed Casey on the stretcher talking on a cellphone on his way out of the stadium.

He was calling Garrett to see if it was ok to go to the hospital for an MRI.
